The Domus Maxi 50 is a 2.4 m suspended LED linear pendant — 48 W, 4320 lm, 3000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in an aluminium body, in six finishes.

Yes. Viewed along its length you see more of the diffuser face at once and at a lower angle, which raises its apparent brightness and makes any unevenness across it more obvious.

Which finish gets better at 2.4m?

Opal. Its density gives the most uniform face, and a uniform face is exactly what a shallow view either exposes or flatters. So the case for opal strengthens as the fitting lengthens, particularly where it sits near eye level or people walk past the ends.

Which gets worse?

Clear. An undiffused source seen nearly end-on over 2.4m is a long, bright bar in the field of view, so the case for it narrows to genuinely high-level positions — a void, a stairwell, a foyer above the eye line. Anywhere seated people can look along the fitting, clear is the wrong choice at this length.

What about prismatic and honeycomb?

Both are unaffected by the length, because they are chosen for what they do to the light rather than how the face reads along the axis. Prismatic redirects shallow-angle output downward; a honeycomb absorbs it above a cut-off angle. Those mechanisms work the same on a 1.2m fitting and a 2.4m one, so if glare is your driver the length does not change the answer.

4320 lumens at 1800 lumens per metre, or 90 lumens per watt from 48W, at 3000K and CRI90. The 4000K version publishes 4800 lumens for the same power — about 11% more.

What do I need for suspension?

Two drop points at 2.4m, with a 3m suspension drop supplied and shortened on site. The spacing between those points and the weight are not published on any listing in the range, and both are settled before the ceiling closes — ask us for them with the lead time.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
