The Domus Maxi 50 is a 1.7 m suspended LED linear pendant — 34 W, 3400 lm, 4000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in an aluminium body, in six finishes.
Domus asks you to call and confirm it. ⭐ We will.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Light output | ⭐ 3400 lm — 100 lm/W |
| Colour rendering | ⭐ CRI90 at 4000 K |
| Power / length | 34 W at 240 V · 1700 mm |
| Beam | 120°, down only |
| IP rating | IP20 — ⚠ dry interior only |
| Suspension | 3 m drop supplied |
| Dimming | ⭐ DALI and emergency on request |
| Warranty | ⭐ 3 years, replacement |
| ⛔ Per-finish output · lifespan | ⛔ Not published |
⭐ At 3000 K the same fitting publishes 3060 lm — ⭐ so 4000 K is about 11% more for the same 34 W.
⭐ Over a monitor, take the HONEYCOMB or the PRISMATIC. ⚠ The black diffuser reduces everything, including the useful downward light — ⭐ it does not preferentially remove the shallow-angle component that causes a reflection. ⭐ Dimming the whole fitting is not the same as controlling its distribution.
1.7 m suspended LED linear pendant. 3400 lm, 34 W (100 lm/W), 4000 K, CRI90. IP20. 1700 mm. 3 m drop. PLEX-COB-20W strip, integral dimmable driver, DALI and emergency on request. Anodised aluminium body. Six finishes. 3-year replacement warranty. Order code MAXI-50-1.7M-A-4K. ⭐ THE BLACK DIFFUSER IS THE ONLY FINISH CHOSEN FOR HOW THE FITTING LOOKS SWITCHED OFF — a tinted diffuser, so light passes, but unlit it reads as a dark face rather than a pale line across the ceiling all day. ⭐ That matters in rooms used in daylight and lit at night. ⚠ It costs light and is the lowest-output finish of the six. ⚠ And it is not a glare solution — for screens, take the honeycomb or the prismatic.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
It is a tinted diffuser rather than a painted panel, so light passes through it — but unlit it reads as a dark face rather than a pale one. That makes it the only finish in the range chosen for how the fitting looks switched off: every other option is a decision about the light, and this one is a decision about the object.
In rooms used in daylight and lit at night — a restaurant that serves lunch, a bar with windows, a meeting room with good glazing, a studio with high sidelight. A frosted or opal pendant is a pale line across the ceiling all day, where a black-diffused one is close to invisible against a dark or exposed ceiling. If your space is only ever seen lit, the argument largely disappears.
Light. A tint absorbs, and by mechanism it is the lowest-output finish of the six. How much is not published, because Domus gives one output figure per listing rather than one per finish. Ask us and we will get the set. If output matters more than the unlit appearance, frosted or clear pass more.
No — take the honeycomb or the prismatic. The black diffuser reduces everything, including the useful downward light, and it does not preferentially remove the shallow-angle component that causes a reflection in a monitor. Dimming the whole fitting is not the same as controlling its distribution, and that distinction is the whole point of a glare optic.
It is a deliberate two-tone: a metal body with a dark face. That can be exactly right — the body catches light and reads as a material while the face stays dark, which is a considered look against timber or concrete. It can also be exactly wrong if what you wanted was for the fitting to disappear entirely; in that case the black body with a black diffuser is the combination. Worth deciding on purpose, because the body colour and the finish sit on different pages.
3400 lumens at 100 lumens per watt from 34W, at 4000K and CRI90 — that is the listing figure before any finish is applied. The 3000K version publishes 3060 lumens, so 4000K is about 11% more for the same power.
No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.
