Will it be too bright for eating under?

At full output, yes — that is task lighting. Dimmed to roughly a third it becomes dining light. It ships with an integral dimmable driver so a domestic trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer works, but the minimum level Domus reaches is not published. Tell us the dimmer you plan to use and we will confirm it.

Which finish should I use at home?

Opal for the most uniform face where the fitting sits close to eye level, or frosted above head height for more output. Prismatic and honeycomb are workplace optics — they exist to control glare over screens and both read technical in a kitchen. Clear is undiffused and will glare over a seated island.

Why CRI90 over a kitchen island?

Because food is judged under it, and CRI90 renders close to natural light so vegetables, meat and timber read correctly. Most commercial linear lighting settles for CRI 80 or better, where reds in particular flatten. At 3000K this gives warm light that still renders honestly, which is not the usual pairing.

How high should I hang it?

About 750mm from the benchtop to the bottom of the fitting over an island, and nearer 800mm over a dining table. A 3m suspension drop is supplied and shortened on site, which covers any normal ceiling. What is not published is the adjustment range, the suspension-point spacing or the weight — ask us for those before the ceiling closes.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
