What is the difference between the Maxi 40 and the Maxi 50?

Less than the names suggest, and we checked it against the supplier's own specification rather than just the metafields. Every published performance figure matches at every length: 2160 or 2400 lumens at 1.2m, 3060 or 3400 at 1.7m, 4320 or 4800 at 2.4m, plus CRI90, IP20, a 120 degree down-only beam, a 3m drop, the same PLEX-COB-20W engine and the same 3-year replacement warranty. They differ in exactly two ways.

What are those two differences?

The Maxi 50 offers six finishes where the Maxi 40 offers four, adding honeycomb and opal. And the Maxi 40 offers a flat, high or low diffuser type, which the Maxi 50 does not have at all — though the Maxi 40's published output is identical across all three of those, so that is an appearance and mounting-depth choice rather than a performance one.

Is the Maxi 50 physically bigger?

Nothing published supports a size difference. Why black plus 4000K?

It is the exposed-services and studio combination. A black body joins bare or dark structure instead of fighting it, where a white pendant would be the loudest object in the room, and 4000K keeps the space reading as a workplace. It is also the more efficient of the two at 2400 lumens against 2160 for the same 24W.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
