Questions
What can I put straight on the drawing?

Seven things: 4800 lumens at CRI90 and 4000K, 48W at 240V with load calculated as metres times 20, a 2400mm length, a 120 degree down-only beam, IP20, a 3m suspension drop supplied, and a 3-year replacement warranty. Four have to be asked for — the suspension-point spacing, the weight, the rated lifespan and a UGR glare figure.

Which of the missing four are urgent?

The spacing and the weight, because both are needed before the ceiling closes: a 2.4m fitting takes two suspension points into structure, and the weight decides whether the fixing is a joist, a noggin or a proprietary anchor. The lifespan matters for a maintenance schedule rather than the install, and the UGR only if your specification names a glare limit — no Domus linear listing publishes one.

What should go on the handover sheet?

Two things. That there is no lamp — this is an integrated LED, so when it fails the fitting is replaced, and a maintenance contractor who assumes a tube will find none. And that DALI and emergency are ordered rather than retrofitted, so if the building later wants either, it is a new fitting rather than an upgrade. Recording that means a future decision is made with it in mind.

Can DALI be added later?

No — the DALI driver is built into the fitting, so it is an order-time choice. On a made-to-order product with no published lead time, that means the decision has to be made before the specification is issued. Tell us the control system and whether emergency is required and we will confirm the right variant with Domus.

How many will I need for a floor?

About three per 20 square metres for a 320-lux general office at ordinary utilisation and maintenance factors, since each gives 4800 lumens. Load is metres times 20, so six fittings is 288W. Tell us the floor plate, the ceiling height and the surfaces and we will do it properly.

Is CRI90 worth having in an office?

It is better than the requirement rather than essential. Most office specifications set CRI80 as a floor, and CRI90 clears it comfortably — which matters where anything is inspected, printed material is checked or samples are compared. In a purely screen-based office it is a bonus rather than a driver.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
