The Domus Maxi 40 is a 2.4 m suspended LED linear pendant — 48 W, 4800 lm, 4000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in a black body with a flat diffuser.
Domus asks you to call and confirm it. ⭐ We will.
| Mounting above the working plane | Relative level on the surface |
|---|---|
| 1.5 m | ⭐ Full |
| 2.1 m | ≈half |
| 3.0 m | ⚠ ≈a quarter |
Dry interior only. ⚠ Converted warehouses often have an unsealed roof, a roller door or a dusty bay — ⭐ and IP2x is not dust-protected either. ⭐ The finished, sealed parts are its home; for the rest, the Domus IMPACT range is IP66 and IK10.
⭐ All 4800 lm goes downward; none washes the structure above. ⭐ In an exposed-services fitout that is what you want — the services recede and the working plane is lit. ⚠ If the ceiling volume should read as part of the space, this will not do it and you would need separate uplighting.

2.4 m suspended LED linear pendant. 4800 lm, 48 W (100 lm/W), 4000 K, CRI90. 120° down-only. IP20. 2400 mm. 3 m drop. PLEX-COB-20W strip, integral dimmable driver, DALI and emergency on request. Black body, flat diffuser. 3-year replacement warranty. Order code MAXI-40-2.4M-FD-B-4K. SKUs 30330–30333. 240 V. ⭐ TALL CEILINGS ARE WHY THE BRIGHTEST FITTING IS THE RIGHT ONE HERE — light falls off with the square of the distance, so a pendant at 3 m delivers roughly a quarter of what it gives at 1.5 m. ⭐ 4800 lm at 100 lm/W is the range's most, and 4000 K adds about 11% over 3000 K for the same watts. ⚠ Hanging lower is also the cheapest way to gain light.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Because those ceilings are tall and light falls off with the square of the distance. A pendant at 1.5m above the working plane gives full level; at 2.1m about half; at 3m roughly a quarter. So a fitting that is generous over a domestic island can be thin over a warehouse bench. 4800 lumens at 100 lumens per watt is the range's most, and it is the sensible choice where the mounting height is already working against you.
Hang it lower. Because the fall-off is with the square of the distance, dropping the fitting from 3m to 2.1m above the bench roughly doubles the level — which no change of fitting will match for free. The 3m supplied drop gives you plenty of room to do that, so it is worth testing the working height before adding fittings.
The 3m supplied drop covers ceilings up to about 4m at a sensible working height, shortened on site. Above that you run out and should ask us, because whether Domus supplies a longer drop is not published. Converted warehouses often exceed 4m, so this is worth checking before ordering rather than at installation.
In the finished, sealed parts. It is IP20, dry interior only, and IP2x is not dust-protected either — so an unsealed roof, a roller door or a dusty bay rules it out, and those are common features of exactly this kind of building. For those areas, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.
No — the beam is 120 degrees, down only, so all 4800 lumens go downward and none washes the ceiling. In an exposed-services fitout that is the intent: the services recede and the working plane is lit. If the ceiling volume should read as part of the space you would need separate uplighting.
Two reasons. It keeps the space reading as a workplace — 3000K against black structure reads as a bar, which is right for a bar and wrong for a studio. And it publishes 4800 lumens against 4320 for the same 48W, about 11% more, which matters when the mounting height is already costing you light.
The rated lifespan, the suspension-point spacing and the weight. The last two are needed before the structure is fixed — a 2.4m tube takes two points, and the weight decides the fixing type. Ask us for all three in one enquiry.
