The Domus Maxi 40 is a 2.4 m suspended LED linear pendant — 48 W, 4320 lm, 3000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in a black body with a flat diffuser.

Is 4320 lumens too much over a bar?

At full output, yes — that is service lighting, right for prep, stocktake, cleaning and cashing up, and far too much during service. Dimmed to roughly a fifth, around 850 lumens, it becomes evening light, and further down it is atmosphere. That is why the dimmer is the specification here rather than an accessory: the same fitting has to do both jobs.

How low will it actually dim?

The minimum level is not published, and at 2.4m over a bar it is the figure that decides whether the room works at 10pm — a fitting that stops at 20% is a different product from one that reaches 1%. It ships with an integral dimmable driver and DALI is available on request. Tell us your control and the level you want during service and we will confirm both with Domus.

Why is CRI90 the reason to choose this one?

Because warm light and accurate colour usually pull against each other. Most commercial linear at 3000K publishes CRI80, where reds flatten — and over a bar that is exactly what shows: garnishes, cocktails, a cut of meat, a wine list. CRI90 is above the CRI 80 or better that the Domus MAX-50 profile range publishes, so the fitting that disappears against a dark ceiling also renders the food properly.

Will 2.4m suit my bar?

It suits a bar or pass of about 3.6m — roughly two-thirds the length, which lights the working surface evenly without overhanging the ends. For a longer bar, two with a deliberate gap read better than one fitting stretched, and the gap should be half a fitting length or more so it registers as rhythm.

Where can I not use it in a venue?

It is IP20, dry interior only. Over a bar or in a dining room that is fine. Over a commercial pass, in a glass-wash area or on a covered terrace it is not — steam, splash and weather all rule it out. For those positions, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66.

Why the black body?

Against a dark or black-painted ceiling it disappears and the light does not — you see a warm line over the bar and the ceiling above stays dark. The 120 degree beam is down only with no uplight component, which reinforces that: all 4320 lumens go to the surface rather than washing the ceiling. That contrast is what a dark hospitality room is built around.

What warranty does it carry?

Three years, replacement type — the right cover for an integrated LED with no serviceable lamp. The rated lifespan is not published, which matters more for a maintenance schedule than for the purchase decision.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
