⭐ White is not the plain option — and there is more to it than looks

• ⭐ Against a white plasterboard ceiling a white body reads as part of the ceiling. You see the lit line and not the fitting.
• ⭐ And there is a small optical benefit as well. ⭐ The beam is 120° and down only, so nothing is thrown upward directly — ⚠ but light reflected off the floor, the table and the walls does come back up, ⭐ and a white body returns more of it into the room than a black one absorbs. ⭐ The effect is modest, and in a low room with pale surfaces it is not nothing.
• ⚠ The aluminium version on the same ceiling is a visible grey line — ⭐ fine if you want the fitting seen, an accident if you do not.
• ⭐ The black version is a deliberate graphic statement on a white ceiling, ⭐ and the right answer on a dark one.

⭐ 3060 lumens at CRI90, 3000 K

• ⭐ 1.7 m suits a 2.5 m dining table or a medium kitchen island.
• ⚠ 3060 lm at full output is task lighting — ⭐ dimmed to about a third it becomes dining light.
• ⭐ CRI90 at 3000 K is the pairing worth having over food — ⚠ warm light usually costs colour accuracy, and here it does not.
• ⭐ At 4000 K the same fitting gives 3400 lm — ⚠ but 4000 K over a dining table reads institutional.
