The Domus Maxi 40 is a 1.7 m suspended LED linear pendant — 34 W, 3400 lm, 4000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in an aluminium body with a flat diffuser.

Are there only two diffuser types at this length?

No — there are three, and you will only find two. At 1.7m in aluminium at 4000K the Maxi 40 comes with a flat, a high or a low diffuser, but the high version is spelt "Hight Diffuser" in its title and web address, so a search misses it and a typed link 404s. Its order code is MAXI-40-1.7M-HD-A-4K and its SKUs are 30265 to 30268.

Am I losing anything by taking the flat version?

Not in brightness, and that is the reassuring part. The flat, high and low versions at this length and colour temperature all publish 3400 lumens and the same 120 degree beam. So the diffuser type is an appearance and mounting-depth decision rather than a performance one — which means the listing you could not find would not have given you more light anyway.

What does the diffuser type change then?

That is not published. The convention in linear profiles is that the terms describe how the diffuser sits in the extrusion — flush, raised or recessed — which we offer as a convention rather than a statement about this product. What we can tell you is what it does not change: output and beam angle are identical across all three. If the profile matters visually, ask us for the drawings.

How much area will it cover?

A two-person desk bank or a 2.5m table at about two-thirds of the surface. Across a floor, roughly four to five fittings per 20 square metres for a 320-lux general office, assuming average reflectance and ordinary utilisation. Load is straightforward at metres times 20, so 34W each and six is 204W.

Is 4000K worth choosing over 3000K?

In a working space, yes. It publishes 3400 lumens against the 3000K version's 3060 for the same 34W — about 11% more light — and it is the right colour for desk and bench work anyway. In a dining or hospitality room, 3000K is the right answer and the extra lumens are not worth the change in character.

What is CRI90 worth?

It is high for a linear pendant of this kind, above the CRI 80 or better that the Domus MAX-50 profile range publishes. At 4000K it means neutral light that renders materials, print and finishes honestly — which is what a working space wants and what a lot of commercial linear lighting does not deliver.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations
