Should I use one 1.7m or two 1.2m fittings?

It depends on the level you need and how you want it to look, not on efficiency. One 1.7m gives 3060 lumens from 34W; two 1.2m give 4320 lumens from 48W — 41% more light for 41% more power. The efficiency is identical because every length runs the same 20 watt per metre strip at the same lumens per watt. So take the single fitting over a 2.5m table for one unbroken line and nothing to align, and two shorter ones over a longer bench where you actually need the extra level.

If I use two, how far apart?

Set the gap at half a fitting length or more so it reads as a deliberate rhythm. A gap noticeably smaller than the fitting looks like a continuous run that failed to join, which is the uncomfortable case. And keep the drops identical — a height variation across a pair is more visible than a spacing variation.

How much light does the 1.7m give?

3060 lumens at 3000K, which is 1800 lumens per metre and 90 lumens per watt from 34W. The 4000K version of the same fitting publishes 3400 lumens for the same power, about 11% more. Over a 2.5m dining table at 800mm, 3060 lumens is comfortable and will want dimming for evening use.

Does the longer fitting cost more to run per lumen?

No — it is identical. Every length in the range runs the same PLEX-COB-20W strip at 20 watts per metre, so the lumens per watt are the same whether you buy 1.2m, 1.7m or 2.4m. That is unusual enough to be worth stating: with many ranges the longer versions are slightly more or less efficient, and here the arithmetic is clean.

Is aluminium right for my ceiling?

Against timber, concrete or exposed structure, yes — a metal body is sympathetic and reads as part of the palette. Against white plasterboard it is a visible grey line, and at 1.7m a fairly long one; the white listing is the one that recedes there. Aluminium is a finish to choose on purpose.

What is CRI90 worth?

It is high for a linear pendant of this kind, above the CRI 80 or better that the Domus MAX-50 profile range publishes. Over a table or an island it means food and materials read correctly, and at 3000K it means warm light that still renders honestly — which is not the usual trade-off.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
