Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Yes for most specifications. Seven of the eight things an office fitout usually asks for are answered: 4000K neutral colour, CRI90 colour rendering, 2400 lumens of output, a glare-control optic in the prismatic finish, DALI on request, an emergency function on request, and a white body that recedes into a grid or plasterboard ceiling. The one gap is a UGR figure.
Unified Glare Rating — a published number describing how much discomfort glare a fitting causes in a given room. Some office specifications call for a limit explicitly, typically UGR under 19 for screen-based work. No Domus linear listing publishes one. If your specification names a UGR limit, ask us before committing: that is one question to Domus and it is better asked now than at submission.
Specify the prismatic finish. It refracts shallow-angle light back towards the vertical rather than scattering it, which is the mechanism that reduces the reflection you see in a monitor — so it is the right optic whether or not the number is available. Frosted looks softer but does not control high-angle output the same way, and clear should not be used over screens at all.
About six fittings per 20 square metres for a 320-lux general office, or nine for a 500-lux drawing office, assuming average reflectance and ordinary utilisation. Load is straightforward: metres times 20, so six fittings is 144W. Tell us the floor plate, the ceiling height and the surfaces and we will do it properly.
1.2m suits a single desk at 2400 lumens; 1.7m suits a two-person bank at 3400 lumens; 2.4m suits four at 4800 lumens. All three draw exactly 20 watts per metre, so a mixed floor of different bench modules still calculates in one line rather than needing a lookup.
DALI is available on request, alongside the integral dimmable driver that ships as standard. It is an ordered variant rather than a setting, so the decision has to be made before the order goes in — and since this is made to order with no published lead time, that means before the specification is issued. Tell us the control system and we will confirm the right variant.
Against a white plasterboard or suspended-grid ceiling a white body recedes, so you see the lit line and not the fitting. Aluminium on the same ceiling reads as a visible grey line, which is a legitimate choice if you want the fitting seen and an accident if you do not. Aluminium belongs against timber, concrete or exposed structure.
