How much suspension is supplied?

3 metres, which is generous — many pendants ship with 1.5m or 2m. It means one fitting covers a wide range of ceilings: a standard 2.4m ceiling, a 3m one, and a 4m warehouse office are all workable, with the cable shortened on site rather than extended. Above about 4m of structure you run out, and whether Domus supplies a longer drop is not published — ask us before specifying into a tall volume.

What drop do I need over a bench?

Hanging about 750mm above the working surface is the usual figure, so from a 2.4m ceiling that is roughly 750mm of drop, from 3m about 1350mm, and from a 4m warehouse office about 2350mm. All three sit inside the 3m supplied. Over a dining table the convention is nearer 800mm, which barely changes the arithmetic.

What mounting information is still missing?

Two figures, and they are specific rather than a blanket gap. The suspension-point spacing: a 1.2m fitting may hang from one point or two, and that changes the setting-out entirely, since one is centred while two must be positioned and both must land in structure. And the weight, which decides whether the fixing goes into a joist, a noggin or a proprietary plasterboard anchor. Ask us for both and we will get them from Domus in one enquiry.

Why do those two matter so much?

Because both are settled before the ceiling closes, which makes them the first questions on a job rather than the last. Once the plasterboard is up, moving a fixing is a repair rather than an adjustment. Everything else you need for the drawing is published — the drop, the length, the load, the output and the colour figures.

How much light does it give?

2160 lumens at 1800 lumens per metre, from 24W at 3000K and CRI90. The 4000K version gives 2400 lumens for the same power. Over a 1.8m bench or island at 750mm that is a comfortable working level.

Why the black body?

Against an exposed or dark ceiling it disappears, so what you see is the lit line rather than the fitting — which in a converted warehouse or a fitout with visible services is usually the intent. Against white plasterboard it becomes a deliberate graphic element instead.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
