The Domus Maxi 40 is a 1.2 m suspended LED linear pendant — 24 W, 2160 lm, 3000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in a black body with a flat diffuser.

Questions
Can this be used with a DALI control system?

Yes — Domus publishes DALI dimming as an option on this range, alongside the integral dimmable driver that ships as standard. With DALI it belongs in a commercial lighting-control specification: addressable, scene-controlled and daylight-linked. What matters is that it is an ordered variant rather than a setting, so the decision has to be made before the order goes in.

Can I add DALI or emergency later?

No. Both the DALI driver and the emergency battery pack are built into the fitting, so neither can be added on site after delivery. On a made-to-order product that means the decision has to be made before the lead time starts — and since Domus publishes no lead time, that call should happen before the specification is issued rather than after.

Does the emergency option replace a separate emergency fitting?

It can, which is the point of it — with the emergency function the pendant forms part of the escape-lighting provision instead of needing a separate emergency luminaire alongside. What is not published is the emergency duration or whether it is maintained or non-maintained, and on a commercial job both are specification items. Ask us and we will get them in writing from Domus.

How low will it dim?

The minimum dim level is not published, which is the gap that remains once the protocol question is settled. The options exist and are documented; it is their detail that needs confirming. Tell us the control system and the level you need at the bottom of the range and we will get both from Domus before you order.

How much light does it give?

2160 lumens at 1800 lumens per metre, from 24W at 3000K and CRI90. The 4000K version of the same fitting gives 2400 lumens for the same power. In a commercial fitout where the control system is the driver, that output figure is what lets the scheme be calculated properly.

Why the black body?

It disappears against a dark or exposed ceiling, so what the room sees is the lit line rather than the fitting. In hospitality and in exposed-services fitouts that is usually the intent. Against white plasterboard a black fitting is a deliberate graphic statement instead, which is a legitimate choice made on purpose.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. For bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, commercial kitchens or unsealed bays, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
