The Domus Maxi 40 is a 1.2 m suspended LED linear pendant — 24 W, 2400 lm, 4000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in an aluminium body with a flat diffuser.

Is 4000K brighter than 3000K here?

Yes, and Domus publishes both figures so the difference is quantified rather than assumed: 2400 lumens at 4000K against 2160 at 3000K, from the same fitting at the same 24W. That is about 11% more light, and it takes the efficacy from 90 to 100 lumens per watt. Same CRI90, same 120 degree beam, same everything else.

Why is the cooler version more efficient?

It is ordinary LED behaviour rather than a bonus. A cooler phosphor converts more of the blue light it is given, so neutral white sources are typically a little more efficient than warm ones. What is useful here is that both figures are published, so you can see the size of the trade instead of guessing at it.

Should I choose 4000K to get the extra light?

Only where 4000K is the right colour anyway. Over a bench, a desk, a studio table or a working kitchen island, 11% more light for the same circuit load and the same fitting cost is worth taking. In a dining room or a lounge, 3000K is the right answer and the 240 lumens are not worth the change in character. Is CRI90 at 4000K unusual?

It is a useful combination and not the commonest one. What will 2400 lumens cover?

Over a 1.8m desk or bench suspended at working height it is a comfortable task level. For a longer run, two of these gives 4800 lumens, or the 1.7m version at 4000K gives 3400 lumens in a single fitting. Tell us the surface and the mounting height and we will work out the level properly — the point is that the calculation is now possible.

Can I have DALI dimming?

Yes, on request — Domus offers DALI dimming and an emergency function as ordered options on this range, alongside the integral dimmable driver that ships as standard. It is an order-time choice rather than a field change, so tell us your control system before the order goes in.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — IP20, dry interior only. Not a bathroom, a covered outdoor area, a washdown space or an unsealed bay. For those, ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
