The Domus Maxi 40 is a 1.2 m suspended LED linear pendant — 24 W, 2160 lm, 3000 K at CRI90, dimmable, in an aluminium body with a high diffuser.

Domus builds this to order and asks you to call and confirm the lead time. ⭐ We will do that first.

⭐ Flat, high or low — what we can now say
  • ⭐ The Maxi 40 is sold with three diffuser types, on three separate listings. ⭐ We measured the published specification across all of them.
  • ⭐⭐ The lumen output is IDENTICAL across flat, high and low at a given length and colour temperature. This high-diffuser version gives the same 2160 lm as the flat and low versions, ⭐ at the same 24 W, the same CRI90 and the same 120° beam.
  • ⭐ So whatever the diffuser type changes, it is NOT the light output — ⭐ and that rules out the thing most people assume it changes.
  • ⚠ What it does change is not published. ⭐ The convention in linear profiles is that the terms describe how the diffuser sits in the extrusion — flush, raised or recessed — ⚠ which we offer as a convention, not as a statement about this product.

What is the difference between the flat, high and low diffusers?

We can now answer half of it precisely. Measured across the range, the lumen output is identical across flat, high and low at a given length and colour temperature — this high-diffuser version gives the same 2160 lumens as the flat and low versions, at the same 24W, the same CRI90 and the same 120 degree beam. So whatever the diffuser type changes, it is not the light output, and that rules out the thing most people assume it changes.

So what does it change?

That is not published. The convention in linear profiles is that the terms describe how the diffuser sits in the extrusion — flush, raised or recessed — which we offer as a convention rather than a statement about this product. If it holds, flat is the flush face, a raised diffuser would sit proud and soften the ends of the lit line, and a recessed one would shield the source from an oblique view. How should I choose then?

On how the fitting should look and how deep it sits, not on brightness — the brightness is settled. That is a more comfortable decision than it used to be: you can pick the profile that suits the ceiling and the sightlines without worrying that you are giving up light to do it. Where the profile is genuinely visible and the job depends on it, ask us for the drawings.

How much light does it give?

2160 lumens at 1800 lumens per metre, or 90 lumens per watt from 24W, at CRI90 and 3000K. Over a 1.8m table or island suspended at 750 to 800mm that is comfortable general light. For task lighting over a longer island, two fittings or the 1.7m version at 3060 lumens would suit better.

Is CRI90 unusual?

It is high for a linear pendant of this kind — above the CRI 80 or better that the Domus MAX-50 profile range publishes, and above what most commercial linear lighting settles for. It matters wherever colour is judged, and at 3000K it means warm light that still renders honestly, which is not the usual trade-off.

Can I use it in a damp space?

No — it is IP20, dry interior only. That covers bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, washdown spaces and unsealed warehouse bays, none of which are suitable. It is a published figure rather than an unknown, so you can design around it. For those positions ask us about the Domus IMPACT range at IP66 and IK10.

What suspension and warranty?

A 3m drop is supplied and can be shortened on site, and the warranty is three years of the replacement type — the right form of cover for an integrated LED with no serviceable lamp. The mounting-point spacing, the weight and the rated lifespan are the figures Domus does not publish; ask us for the first two before the ceiling closes.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
