The Domus MAX-75 Up-Down is a suspended up-and-down aluminium profile luminaire sold by the metre — 34.6 W per metre from a 75 mm-wide aperture, with Osram LED boards, 3000 K, 4000 K or tunable white, and DALI and 0–10 V options. 3-year warranty.
Up to 10 business days for production before it ships — ⭐ which is what lets it be cut to your run and finished in your colour.
| MAX-50 Down | MAX-75 Down | MAX-75 Up-Down | |

domus-max-75 — ⛔ the bare model
name.
The sheet text reads “The MAX-75 Down suspension pendant…” ⛔ on an up-down product. ⭐ The specification table is correct — it gives 34.6 W/m and 2 × 2,466 lm, which are the up-down figures — ⚠ but the descriptive paragraph was copied from the down pendant. ⭐ So read the table, not the prose.
dimmable = No. ⭐ The base product is non-dimmable and control is a variant
choice; ⚠ a single yes/no field cannot say that, ⛔ so filtering on dimmable hides all 9 MAX
profile listings.
Suspended up/down LED profile pendant, sold per metre. 34.6 W/m. 2 × 2,466 lm/m (3000 K), 2 × 2,600 lm/m (4000 K). 3000 K, 4000 K or tunable white. Plain, DALI or 0–10 V. CRI ≥80. 120°. IP20. Profile 75 × 95 mm, extruded 6063 aluminium. Flat opal-frost PMMA diffuser. Osram LED boards. 50,000 hrs. ✅ 3-year warranty. ⛔ Made to order — allow up to 10 business days. ⭐ The highest output AND the lowest-glare face in the MAX range: the up-down doubles the light while the 75 mm aperture spreads it. ⚠ It needs a ceiling worth lighting. ⛔ Its web address is the bare model name though four MAX-75 products exist, and its sheet prose describes the DOWN version — read the table, not the paragraph.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Because it combines two things that are usually a trade-off. The up-down configuration doubles the output to 2 × 2,466 lumens per metre, and the 75mm aperture spreads each half over 50% more area than a MAX-50 — so it delivers the most light in the range from the lowest-luminance face. That is exactly what a large open-plan office or a boardroom wants: enough light, and a fitting you can sit under without squinting.
A full second board. Both the power and the output double exactly against the MAX-75 Down — 34.6 W/m against 17.3, and 2 × 2,466 lumens against 2,466 — which is what tells you it is a genuine second engine rather than a token uplift. But it needs a ceiling worth lighting: against a clean white soffit the ceiling wash transforms the space, and under exposed dark services it lights nothing and doubles your energy. The honest test is to look up.
A cataloguing artefact worth knowing about. There are four MAX-75 products — recessed, surface mounted, down pendant and this up-down pendant — and all four are called MAX-75, but this listing sits at the bare model name. So a URL that reads as a range page serves one specific variant, and it is the one most people are not looking for, since the down-only pendant is the commoner choice. If you followed a link expecting the MAX-75 range and landed here, this is the up-down version; ask us for the other three.
Because the descriptive paragraph was copied from the down-only pendant's sheet. The specification table is correct — it gives 34.6 W/m and 2 × 2,466 lumens, which are the up-down figures — but the prose above it reads "The MAX-75 Down suspension pendant". So read the table rather than the paragraph. The product is the up-down version.
On the DALI or 0–10V variants, yes. The listing records dimmable as No because a single yes/no field cannot express a variant axis — nine MAX profile listings are in the same position, so filtering a catalogue on dimmable hides all of them. On an up-down fitting dimming earns its keep twice, because the ceiling wash is what you want to take down first in the evening. One thing no source states is whether the up and down halves can be controlled separately; ask us if that matters.
Colour temperature shifted from the control system rather than fixed for the life of the fitting — and on an up-down pendant it is particularly effective, because the ceiling wash carries the colour of the room more than the downward light does. Warm in the evening, neutral during the day, across the whole ceiling plane. It is DALI only, so a 0–10V system cannot have it, and it appears in no product field at all.
Over a table, 750 to 900mm above the surface is the usual range — but an up-down pendant benefits from a little more height than a down-only one, because the up-light needs room to spread before it reaches the ceiling. Hung too close to the soffit, the ceiling wash becomes a bright stripe rather than an even glow, which rather defeats the point. Tell us the ceiling height and we will suggest a drop.
