The Domus MAX-50 Down Pendant is a suspended aluminium profile luminaire sold by the metre — 17.3 W per metre, Osram LED boards, 3000 K, 4000 K or tunable white, with DALI and 0–10 V control options. 3-year warranty.

Is it dimmable or not?

It depends entirely which variant you buy, and the record cannot say so. This listing sells 21 variants including 3000K/DALI, 4000K/DALI, 3000K/0-10V, 4000K/0-10V and TUNABLE/DALI — and records dimmable as No. The base product is non-dimmable and control is a variant choice; the datasheet says the system offers DALI dimming and emergency upon request. But a single yes/no field cannot express "depends which variant you buy", so anyone filtering a catalogue on dimmable will never see what is arguably the most controllable product in it. Nine MAX profile listings are in the same position.

What does TUNABLE/DALI give me?

The ability to shift colour temperature from the control system — warm in the evening, neutral during the day — rather than being fixed at 3000K or 4000K for the life of the fitting. It is the premium option in this range and it appears in no product field at all, so it is easy to miss. One constraint: it is only offered on DALI, so a 0–10V system cannot have it. Why buy per metre rather than a fixed length?

Because your run rarely matches 1.2, 1.7 or 2.4m. Over a 3m island, a 4.5m reception desk, or a run that has to stop at a structural line, cut-to-length is the only thing that works. Why do the Osram boards matter?

On a long run, more than anywhere else. A 6-metre pendant is several boards end to end, and any colour variation between them shows as banding along the diffuser — the commonest visible fault in linear lighting. A specified engine makes that less likely, and it also means a replacement board years later is more likely to match. It is the sort of thing you only notice when it goes wrong, at which point the run is installed.

Is CRI ≥80 good enough?

For offices, circulation and boardrooms, yes. It is not the ≥90 that the LYNX exterior range in this catalogue carries, so for retail displaying product, food or fabric — where colour rendering is the point — ask us about higher-CRI options. The datasheet lists high-output LED boards as available on request, and that conversation is worth having at quotation stage rather than after installation.

How high should I hang it?

Over a table, 750 to 900mm above the surface is the usual range. Lower reads intimate and starts blocking sight lines across the table; higher lights the room rather than the table and loses the sense that the pendant belongs to it. In an open-plan office suspended in rows the calculation is different — tell us the ceiling height and the task and we will suggest a drop.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
