This Domus lamp is a 4.2 W clear LED filament candle — C35 shape, B22 bayonet, dimmable, in 2700 K or 6500 K.
| Family | Efficacy |
|---|---|
| LF filament (this kind) | ⭐ 103–135 lm/W |
| KEY LED globes | 87–100 lm/W |
| ⚠ LRF retro vintage filament | ⛔ 28–52 lm/W |
⚠ 7 of the 7 Domus filament listings titled “Dim” carry no dimmable field — so the claim lives only in the name. ⭐ It is dimmable, and ⚠ the caveat that always applies to LED filament still applies here: use a trailing-edge dimmer, and be aware that a single 4.2 W lamp is a very small load for most dimmers. ⭐ Several lamps on one dimmer behave far better than one. Tell us the dimmer and the lamp count.
4.2 W clear LED filament candle. C35 shape. B22 bayonet. 2700 K or 6500 K. Dimmable. 240 V. ⛔ No lumen figure, CRI, lifespan, warranty or datasheet is recorded — as with 18 of the 19 Domus filament listings. ⭐ Its 4.2 W LF-C35 sibling records 500 lm and 15,000 hrs, which is a guide, not this SKU's specification. ⭐ This is a MODERN filament lamp, not a "retro vintage" one — those give roughly a quarter the light per watt. ⚠ Clear shows the filament and glares; the frosted version is for eye-level positions.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Clear where you look AT the lamp, frosted where you look THROUGH it. This is the clear version, so you see the filament, which is the entire point of a filament lamp — in an open fitting, a bare pendant, a chandelier or a clear-glass lantern, clear is the only choice that makes sense. But a visible filament is a small, very bright source and it glares: at eye level, above a dining table, or in a fitting you look up into, clear is uncomfortable. That is what the frosted version is for.
Not recorded — and nor is the CRI, beam, lifespan or warranty, because this listing has six fields and no datasheet. That is true of 18 of the 19 Domus filament listings, which is a real gap given a globe is bought on lumens. The nearest guide is a sibling: the LF-C35, a 4.2W C35 filament candle in this same catalogue, records 500 lumens and 15,000 hours. That is a sibling reading rather than this SKU's specification, and we would rather label it than pass it off. Ask us for the actual figure if you are matching an existing lamp.
No — and the difference is four-fold, which nothing in the catalogue tells you. Domus sells two filament families: this modern kind, which runs about 103 to 135 lumens per watt, and a "retro vintage" LRF range that runs 28 to 52. So a retro lamp gives roughly a quarter the light per watt. That is the design rather than a fault: a retro lamp imitates a 1910 carbon filament — long, dim, orange, meant to be looked at rather than to light a room. If you want the antique glow, ask us for the LRF range; if you want to see by it, stay here.
2700K unless there is a specific reason not to. Warm, slightly amber light is what a filament lamp is for — it matches the look of the visible filament and suits every room a candle lamp goes in. 6500K is a cold blue-white, and on a clear filament lamp it is close to a contradiction: you are buying a warm decorative form and putting daylight-white light through it. It has uses in display of cool-toned goods or a commercial task position, but in a chandelier or a dining pendant it will look wrong.
Yes — though the claim lives only in the title, since this listing records no dimmable field, as with all seven Domus filament listings titled "Dim". The caveat that always applies to LED filament applies here: use a trailing-edge dimmer, and be aware that a single 4.2W lamp is a very small load for most dimmers. Several lamps on one dimmer behave far better than one. Tell us the dimmer and the lamp count and we will say whether it will be smooth.
If the holder is B22 bayonet, yes — that is what this version takes. There is an E27 screw version of the same lamp if your fitting takes that instead. C35 is the standard small candle envelope, so it fits conventional candle holders and shades. If you are unsure which base your fitting has, send us a photograph of the holder and we will identify it.
Not recorded on this listing, along with everything else — it holds six fields and no datasheet. Other Domus lamps in this catalogue record two to three years, and the filament siblings with sheets record 15,000-hour lives, so a term almost certainly exists. Ask us and we will confirm it with Domus before you order, particularly if you are buying a set for a multi-arm fitting where replacing one later means a visible mismatch.
