⛔ It is an MR11. Its record says MR16 — and they do not interchange

• The title, the model and the datasheet all say MR11. ⛔ The lamp-type field says MR16.
• ⚠ These are different lamps. ⭐ An MR11 is about 35 mm across; an MR16 is about 50 mm. An MR11 rattles in an MR16 fitting and an MR16 will not go into an MR11 one.
• ⭐ So this is a defect that ends in a returned part, which is why we are stating it plainly rather than quietly publishing the right value.
• ✅ To be clear: this globe is an MR11. ⭐ If your fitting takes MR16, this is not the lamp — tell us and we will send the right one.
• ⭐ We measured the whole catalogue. Exactly 3 listings of 843 record a lamp base that contradicts their own title — this one, a pendant titled “with E27 base” recording E14, and a postlight titled B22 recording E27. ⭐ All three end in the same place: the wrong lamp.

⛔ This lamp pair has two datasheets, and they disagree

• ⭐ Both sheets name both SKUs, so this is one lamp pair described twice — ⛔ and they differ on output by 25%.

• ✅ The sibling settles the size question, though. Ø35 mm is the MR11 dimension — ⭐ which confirms that the MR16 recorded on this listing is wrong.
• ⭐ And a warranty exists. ⚠ The 3000 K version of this same lamp pair records 3 years; this one records none. ⭐ Ask us to confirm the term applies to whichever version you order rather than reading the absence as meaning there is no cover.

⛔ It needs a driver, and no field says so

• 12 V DC. ⭐ The datasheet is explicit: a 12 V DC constant-voltage LED driver is required. ⛔ No product field carries that.
• ⚠ This will not work on mains, and it will not work on an old halogen transformer. ⭐ A magnetic or electronic transformer built for halogen puts out AC and expects a much larger load — at 3 W this lamp is far below the minimum most of them need to regulate.
• ⭐ What you need is a constant-VOLTAGE 12 V DC driver, sized above your total lamp load. ⚠ Not a constant-current one — the two are not interchangeable and the distinction is easy to miss.
• ⭐ Tell us how many you are running and we will size the driver with you. ⭐ It is the commonest way a low-voltage LED installation goes wrong.

⭐ A 38° beam at 3 W is a specific tool

• 240 lm at 38°. ⭐ Narrow enough to place light deliberately, small enough to disappear.
• ⭐ Which is what an MR11 is for: display cases, joinery, shelving, step and plinth lighting, and anywhere a 50 mm MR16 would be too big to hide.
• ⚠ 38° is a flood by MR11 standards but a spot by room standards. At 1 m it lights a pool roughly 0.7 m across — ⭐ aim it, do not expect it to fill a space.
• ⚠ 240 lm is modest. ⭐ Plan on several, which is also why the driver sizing matters.

⛔ 6000 K is cooler than most interiors want

• This variant is 6000 K — ⭐ the datasheet lists a 3000 K version too.
• ⚠ 6000 K is a cold, blue-white light. ⭐ It suits display of cool-toned goods, technical and inspection work, and marine or signage use — ⚠ it does not suit joinery, timber, food or anywhere domestic, where it makes warm materials look grey.
• ⭐ If this is going into cabinetry or a home, ask us for the 3000 K version. ⭐ Same fitting, same beam, and a completely different result.
• CRI ≥80, 35,000 hrs, ⛔ not dimmable.

⚠ IP54 on a lamp recorded as indoor

⛔ The record says “Indoor”; ✅ the sheet says IP54 — protected against dust and splashing water. ⭐ That is a genuinely useful rating on a small lamp, and it means this can go somewhere a bare MR11 could not: a covered step, a planter, a damp cabinet. ⚠ The driver still has to be sited dry.

• Display cases and shelving, where a 50 mm lamp will not hide.
• Joinery and plinth lighting — ⚠ in 3000 K, not this 6000 K.
• Step and threshold lighting — IP54 helps.
• ⚠ Not without a 12 V DC constant-voltage driver.
• ⚠ Not on an old halogen transformer, and ⚠ not on a dimmer.
