Domus KEY-G9-TRIO - 4W LED Tri-colour CRI90 Dimmable G9 Shape Clear PC Globe

The Domus KEY-G9-TRIO is a 4 W LED globe on a G9 base running directly on 240 V AC, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, CRI ≥90, a 280° beam and dimming.

What you are buying at 4 W

• 350 lm at 4000 K, 330 lm at 3000 K and 5000 K. Roughly what a 40 W halogen G9 gave, at a tenth of the power.
• CRI ≥90 — a real step above the ≥80 most of this catalogue runs, and the reason to choose this over a cheaper G9.
• 280° beam. A G9 usually sits inside a shade, a glass or a wall bracket, and a near-spherical spread is exactly right for that: the fitting shapes the light.
• 50,000 hours. In a multi-lamp chandelier or a bank of wall lights, the difference between replacing halogens every year and not thinking about it.

Where CRI ≥90 earns its keep

• ✅ Bathroom and dressing-room wall lights — skin tones and make-up read correctly rather than flattened.
• ✅ Dining and display — food, timber and fabric look like themselves.
• ✅ Anywhere the globe is visible behind clear glass, where the quality of the light is on show.
• ⚠ It costs a little efficiency — about 88 lm/W. Worth it for the places above, not a reason to relamp a whole house.

Dimming and colour switching

Dimmable, and switchable between three colour temperatures.

• ⚠ A 4 W lamp is a small load. Trailing-edge dimmers have a minimum load, and a single 4 W globe can sit under it — which shows up as flicker or a dead bottom end. In a multi-lamp fitting that is rarely a problem; on a single wall light it can be. Tell us the fitting and the dimmer and we will say whether it will work.
• ⚠ Switch every globe in a fitting to the same colour setting. One odd lamp in a five-arm chandelier is unmissable.
• ⚠ The 4000 K setting is the brightest, by about 6%.
