The Domus GT-653 is a curved-arm downward post bracket for the MONACO lantern — 500 mm high, 370 mm out, 420 mm deep, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, taking one E27 lamp, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white. Made in Italy, assembled and powder coated in Australia.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ It is a bracket, and the post is separate

Our catalogue lists this under Post Top, which is the opposite arrangement. What you are buying is the lantern and its curved arm.

The reach — and why it changes where the post goes

• At 370 mm out and 420 mm deep, the arm carries the lantern a substantial distance from the post centreline.
• ✅ That lets the post sit clear of a driveway while the light falls onto it — no post to reverse into, and no fitting in the swing of a gate.
• ⚠ Check the swept position, not the post position, against vehicles, gates and branches. A 500 mm-high lantern hanging 370 mm off a post is easy to misjudge on a plan.

⚠ IP43 — and a downward lantern is the better case for it

Spraying water down to 60° from vertical — lower than the IP44 or IP65 most exterior fittings carry.

• ✅ A downward-facing lantern under a curved arm is partly self-sheltering, which helps — the opening faces the ground rather than the sky.
• ⚠ Driving rain still arrives closer to horizontal and is outside the rating. On an open, wind-exposed driveway this fitting is working at its limit.
• ⛔ Not for hosing, coastal spray or sprinkler overspray.

If the position is genuinely exposed, ask us for an IP44 or IP65 alternative.

✅ One lantern, many configurations

The MONACO head is modular. The same lantern is offered as a wall bracket, a post pendant, this curved-arm downward bracket, and as single, twin or triple heads on posts of 1.35, 1.98, 2.35 or 2.40 metres.

✅ That is what lets an exterior scheme read as designed — a curved arm over the drive, brackets either side of the door, upright heads down the path, all the same lantern. Tell us the configuration and we will quote it.

Choosing the lamp — not supplied

• One E27. Behind the moulded acrylic lens it is diffused, so shape does not matter.
• Warm 2700–3000 K.
• Around 800–1,200 lm for a lantern at this height and reach.
• ⚠ Rated for enclosed fixtures and outdoor use.

Where it works

• Driveways and paths — the arm throws light over the surface, not around the post.
• Where the post must stand clear of vehicles or a gate swing.
• Traditional and heritage properties — the street-lantern form.
• ⛔ IP43 — ask us if the position is open and wind-exposed.
• ⚠ Post and lamp both separate.
