Domus EMIT 85mm 4/6W 30° LED TRIO 12/24V Wall Wash

The Domus EMIT-85 is an 85 mm inground wall-wash light — 4 W or 6 W, CREE LED, IP67, IK10, CRI ≥90, tri-colour 3000 / 4000 / 5500 K. Round or Square Open, four metalware finishes.

⛔ The cannister costs 17 mm here, not 5

• ⛔ A decision that costs 5 mm on the smaller fittings costs 17 mm on this one. That is more than a quarter again on the hole.
• ⚠ And it must be made before the hole is cut. A Ø65 mm core in concrete or paving cannot be opened to Ø82 mm without significant work.
• ⛔ Neither figure is in a product field. Both are on the datasheet, and the cannister is a separate purchase.
• ⭐ Our advice on this model: decide the cannister at design stage, not on site. On the 25 and 55 you can afford to change your mind; here you cannot.

⭐ Two fascias on this version, and that is a simplification worth having

• Round Open and Square Open only on this wall-wash version — where the EMIT-25 and EMIT-55 offer nine.
• ⭐ Which removes the biggest trap in the range. On the EMIT-55, choosing a multiway fascia instead of an open one drops the output 54-fold. Here both options are open fascias, so the dropdown cannot cost you the light.
• ⚠ But check which EMIT-85 you are on. Domus also makes an EMIT-85 36° decklight — in tri-colour and RGBW — and that one carries all nine fascias, so the trap applies there. This wall-wash listing is the two-fascia one.
• ✅ Round or Square is a genuine visual choice and nothing more: square suits paving and formal detailing, round suits garden beds and softer schemes.

⭐ It is a wall wash, and that is what the 85 is for

• Output: 3000 K 406 lm · 4000 K 460 lm · 5500 K 453 lm — ⭐ roughly three times the EMIT-55's open-fascia output, which is what lets it reach up a wall rather than pool at its own feet.
• ⚠ The title says 30° and the datasheet's parsed fields give no beam angle at all. ⭐ A 30° beam is consistent with a wall-wash fitting — narrow enough to throw upward rather than spread — but we have not put it in the specification as a confirmed figure. Ask us if the throw height matters.
• ⭐ Set it close to the wall. A wall-wash inground light works by grazing the surface from near its base; set back, it becomes an uplight and the effect changes entirely.
• ⚠ Grazing light is unforgiving on a poor surface. On smooth render it looks deliberate; on patchy brickwork it finds every fault.

• Dual wattage 4 W / 6 W — ⚠ our record holds only 6 W.
• 12 or 24 V DC, ⛔ constant-voltage driver required, wired in parallel. ⭐ The sheet notes an AC/DC driver works but recommends a Domus DC driver.
• IP67, IK10, CRI ≥90, 50,000 hrs, ⛔ not dimmable.
• ⭐ Water Stop cable joint noted on the sheet — the joint is where an inground installation usually fails, so a sealed one is worth having.
• ⚠ Our record holds two of the three colour temperatures.
• ⛔ No warranty recorded.

Where it works

• Grazing a rendered or stone wall from its base.
• Paved courtyards and entries — IK10.
• Where the EMIT-55 is not bright enough — roughly three times the output.
• ⚠ Not on patchy brickwork — grazing light finds every fault.
• ⛔ Not cut to Ø65 mm if a cannister may be wanted — here that costs 17 mm, not 5.
