A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus EMIT-55 is a 55 mm inground light — 2.5 W, CREE LED, IP67, IK10, CRI ≥90, with nine fascia plates and four metalware finishes. Tri-colour 3000 / 4000 / 5500 K.

55 mm inground light. Cutout Ø43 mm without cannister, Ø48 mm with. 2.5 W, 12 or 24 V DC. CREE LED. Tri-colour 3000 / 4000 / 5500 K. CRI ≥90. Beam 19° / 36° / 60°, 36° standard. IP67, IK10. 50,000 hrs. Nine fascias; four metalware finishes. ⛔ Not dimmable. ⛔ A 12 or 24 V constant-voltage driver is required and not included — wire in parallel. ⛔ Output varies 54× by fascia (135 lm Round Open to 2.5 lm 1 Way) and no lumen figure is recorded on the listing. ⭐ Warranty: the datasheet gives 5 years and no product field carries it — ask us to confirm with your order.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
It depends entirely on the fascia, and by far more than anyone expects — from 135 lumens with the Round or Square Open plate down to 2.5 lumens with the 1 Way. That is a 54-fold difference from the same fitting at the same wattage, chosen from a dropdown that gives no hint. The open fascias let the whole 2.5W out and light a surface; the multiway fascias emit through narrow slots and are markers meant to be seen rather than to illuminate. Decide what the fitting is for before choosing.
Ask what the light is doing. Uplighting a tree, a column or a wall needs Round Open or Square Open at 135lm. Marking a path edge, a step or a driveway line needs a multiway (2.5–5.4lm), a Halo (22lm) or a Ring (28lm) — those are there to be seen, not to light anything. The Eyelid at 80lm sits between: a shielded wash where you want light without seeing the source. Tell us the job and we will pick it with you.
Ø43mm without the cannister, Ø48mm with it — and decide before you cut, because a Ø43mm hole cannot later accept a cannister without being opened out, which in a poured or paved surface is not a small job. The cannister is a variant of the separate EMIT 55mm Accessories listing, so the part that changes the cutout is a different purchase. Neither figure is in a product field; both are on the datasheet.
In a garden bed or a paved area, usually yes. It gives the fitting a sealed sleeve to sit in, which keeps soil and water off the body and — more usefully — makes the fitting removable later without digging. The cost is 5mm on the cutout, decided at the time you cut. If the fitting is going into a dry, accessible position, you can do without it.
Yes, and that is unusually useful on an inground light. Three angles are available — 19°, 36° and 60°, with 36° supplied as standard — and the other two are lenses on the accessories listing, so they can be swapped without lifting the fitting out of the ground. You rarely know the right angle until the planting has grown, so being able to change it is worth knowing about. Use 19° for a tall narrow subject like a palm trunk, 60° for a wide low one like a shrub.
Yes — a 12 or 24V constant-voltage LED driver, not included, wired in parallel. The datasheet notes it will work with an AC/DC driver but recommends a Domus DC one. Size the driver to the total load with about 20% headroom, and ask us about the cable at the same time: at low voltage, volt drop on a long garden run dims the far end.
We do not know, and we would rather flag it than invent an explanation. The datasheet gives 1 Way 2.5lm, 2 Way 5.4lm, 3 Way 4.0lm and 4 Way 4.4lm — so the 3 Way emits less than the 2 Way, which is not what you would expect. All four are marker outputs and the practical difference between them is the pattern of slots rather than the quantity of light, so it is unlikely to change a decision. If you are calculating to a lux level, ask us to confirm with Domus.
