⭐ The cannister changes the cutout — and it is sold here

• EMIT-25 cutout: Ø19 mm without the cannister, Ø24 mm with it.
• ⛔ So a specification decision about the hole is made by buying an accessory from a page that records nothing.
• ⚠ Decide before you cut. A Ø19 mm hole cannot later take a cannister without being opened out.
• ⭐ What it does: gives the fitting a sealed sleeve to sit in, keeping soil and water off the body and making the fitting removable later without digging. In a garden bed or paving, usually worth having.

⭐ The lenses change the beam angle — so the beam is a choice, not a fixed spec

• ⭐ The fitting ships at 36° and the other three are bought here, which means the beam can be changed after the fitting is in the ground.
• ⭐ That is unusually useful on an inground light. You rarely know the right angle until the planting has grown or the paving is finished — and lifting an inground fitting to re-specify it is exactly what you want to avoid.
• ⚠ It also means a beam angle quoted on the fitting listing is the standard one, not a fixed one.

⭐ The diffuser and the honeycomb do opposite jobs

• Diffuser — ⭐ softens the source into a glow. Use it where the fitting is seen directly and the point of light is too hard: a step edge, a seating area, anywhere at close range.
• Honeycomb louvre — ⭐ the opposite approach to the same problem. Instead of spreading the light it blocks the view of the source at an angle, so the beam still lands where it was aimed but you do not see the emitter when walking past.
• ⭐ Use the honeycomb where the light matters and the glare does not — an uplight beside a path. Use the diffuser where the fitting itself is part of the look.
• ⚠ Both cost output. Neither datasheet quantifies how much. Ask us if you are working to a level.
