Product Description
xThe Domus CHAM-REM-2C is a handheld RF and Bluetooth remote control for tunable-white LED strip, running on two AAA batteries, with scene memory and a wall-mounting bracket.
⛔ On its own, this remote does nothing. It is one half of a system: it transmits to the CHAM-BT-RF-5C receiver, which sits between your driver and your LED strip and does the actual work.
Without that receiver there is nothing for it to talk to — and neither the title nor the product record says so. If you are ordering a tunable-white strip installation, you need three things: the strip, the receiver, and this remote. Tell us what strip you are running and we will specify the whole chain rather than leave you to discover the gap.
⚠ Our record also describes this remote as having a “built-in LED”. It does not — it is a battery-powered handset with no light source in it at all. We are correcting the page rather than repeating the field.
What “tunable white” means, and why it needs a controller
- Tunable-white strip carries two sets of LEDs — one warm, one cool — on the same tape. Mixing them gives you any colour temperature between the two, not three fixed steps.
- That mixing has to happen somewhere, and it is not in the strip and not in the driver. It is in the receiver, which this remote commands.
- ✅ The difference from a dip-switch fitting is control after installation. A switchable downlight is set once, on a ladder. This is adjusted from the sofa, whenever you like.
What the remote actually does
- Selects the white point anywhere across the tunable range.
- Dims the strip independently of the colour.
- Saves scenes. ✅ This is the part people use most — a warm dim setting for evening and a bright neutral one for working, both a single press away rather than two adjustments each time.
- Two channels, so it can control two zones.
- ✅ RF and Bluetooth. RF does not need line of sight, so the receiver can be hidden in a ceiling void or behind joinery.
Living with it
- Two AAA batteries (4.5 V). No charging, no dock, and it keeps working in a power cut once the lights come back.
- ✅ The mounting bracket is the detail worth using. A remote that has a place on the wall gets used; one that lives in a drawer does not, and an expensive tunable-white installation ends up stuck on whatever setting it was left on.
- Rated 0–40 °C. Indoor use.
- ⚠ No RF range figure is published in any source we hold. In practice RF handsets of this kind work across a normal room and through a plasterboard wall, but we are not putting a number to it. Ask us if the receiver will be a long way from where you sit.

Questions
Will this work on its own?
No. It is a transmitter — it needs the CHAM-BT-RF-5C receiver, which sits between your driver and your LED strip and does the actual mixing and dimming. Neither the title nor our product record says so, which is why we are saying it here. A tunable-white installation needs three things: the strip, the receiver and this remote.
What is tunable white, and how is it different from a switchable fitting?
Tunable-white strip carries two sets of LEDs, one warm and one cool, on the same tape. Mixing them gives you any colour temperature between the two rather than three fixed steps — and the mixing happens in the receiver, which this remote commands. The practical difference is when you choose: a switchable downlight is set once on a ladder, this is adjusted from the sofa whenever you like.
Does it dim as well as change colour?
Yes, and independently — you can set a warm white and then take the level down without the colour shifting back. It also saves scenes, which is the feature people actually use: a warm dim setting for the evening and a bright neutral one for working, each a single press away.
How many zones can it control?
Two channels, so two zones from one handset. If you are running more than that, tell us what you are lighting and we will specify the right combination of receivers.
Does the receiver need line of sight?
No — that is why it is RF as well as Bluetooth. The receiver can be hidden in a ceiling void or behind joinery and still respond. No range figure is published in any source we hold, so if the receiver will be a long way from where you sit, ask us before you commit to the layout.
Does it have a light on it?

What batteries does it take and what warranty does it have?

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
