The Domus BF-2013 is a raw ceramic wall uplight made in Italy, 175 mm wide, 160 mm high and 90 mm deep, taking a single G9 lamp and designed to be painted to match the wall.
⚠ Our record flags this fitting as colour-changing. It is not.
It is a ceramic shell with one replaceable G9 lamp holder and no LED in it at all. The colour of the light is entirely whatever lamp you put in — and it does not change once fitted.
✅ Which is not a limitation, it is how the fitting works. Choose a warm G9 for a hallway or a cooler one for a workspace, and change your mind later by changing the globe. That is something a fitting with an integrated LED cannot do.
⚠ One G9 lamp is required and is not included.
Raw ceramic wall uplight, made in Italy. 175 mm wide × 160 mm high × 90 mm deep. Requires 1 × G9 lamp — not included. Supplied unpainted, finishable with any water-based paint. 240 V AC, indoor. 50,000 hrs fitting life. ⚠ Warranty 1 year.
⚠ 60 W is recorded for a single G9, and the same 60 W appears on this range's two-lamp fittings — the single-lamp figures in this range do not reconcile with each other, so this is the least reliable wattage in it. Ask us before running near it. ⚠ Our record flags this fitting as colour-changing; it has no LED, only a lamp holder.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. Our product record carries a colour-changing flag and it simply does not apply — this is a ceramic shell with one replaceable G9 lamp holder and no LED in it at all. The colour of the light is whatever globe you put in, and it does not change once fitted. That is how the fitting works rather than a limitation: you can change the colour later by changing the globe, which a fitting with an integrated LED cannot do.
60 W is recorded — but treat that as the least reliable wattage in this range. The same 60 W figure appears on the two-lamp BF ceramics, and both cannot be right for a single holder and a pair; across seven of these fittings the two-lamp models read consistently and the single-lamp ones do not agree with each other. 60 W in a single G9 is a great deal of heat inside a ceramic shell. A 4 W LED G9 gives roughly what a 40 W halogen did and removes the question.
Width, and how many lamps. This is the compact one at 175 mm with a single G9 — it suits a narrow pier, a stair wall between openings, or anywhere a wider fitting would crowd, and it repeats well up a stairwell. The BF-2014 is 350 mm with two G9s and throws a broader band of light, which is the better choice on a wide wall where this one would light a column rather than a band.
Not strictly, but it is designed for it. Raw ceramic is supplied unpainted and takes any water-based paint, so it finishes in the exact colour of the wall and reads as a lit recess rather than a fitting. Paint it before it goes up, at the same time as the wall so the sheen matches — and note that repainting the room later means repainting the fitting.
An LED G9 at 4 W, and a high-CRI one if the wall is a colour — a cheap G9 flattens a painted wall where CRI ≥90 does not. 3000 K in a hallway or living space, 2700 K if the room is warmer. If you are repeating these up a stairwell, use identical globes: a run of uplights is seen at once and a colour mismatch between them is unmissable.
That depends on the globe rather than the fitting. A dimmable LED G9 with a compatible dimmer will dim; a non-dimmable one will not. The caution is load: a single 4 W G9 is very small and will often sit below a trailing-edge dimmer's minimum, showing as flicker or a dead bottom end. Tell us the dimmer and how many fittings are on the circuit and we will say.
No — it throws all its light up the wall and across the ceiling, which gives a soft ambient wash with no visible source and makes a low ceiling feel higher. That is what it is for. It is not a reading light and it will not be a room's only light; pair it with something task-oriented.
