Deco Dali Dimmable Led Downlight

The Domus DECO-13 is a 13 W deep-set recessed downlight with an anti-glare frame and opal diffuser, DALI dimmable, in round or square and white, black or chrome. Cutout Ø90 mm; fascia Ø110 mm; 38 mm deep.

Round or square, at one cutout

• ✅ Both shapes take the same Ø90 mm hole — a square fascia over a round aperture.
• ✅ Which means you can mix them, or change your mind after the ceiling is cut. A square trim reads as deliberate in a modern ceiling; a round one is the safer default and hides rotation.
• ⚠ A square trim must be set out square to the room. Round trims forgive rotation; these do not, so a run needs setting out to the walls rather than by eye.
• Three finishes — white, black and chrome. ⚠ Chrome is unusual on a downlight and it will show fingerprints and dust at the aperture more than a matt finish.

The numbers

• 850 lm at 3000 K, 880 lm at 4000 K, 889 lm at 5000 K from 13 W — the datasheet's figures.
• ✅ The spread across settings is under 5%, so the colour choice barely changes the level. That is unusual and useful: you can pick the colour for the room without recounting fittings.
• 90° beam — a wide spread, so fewer fittings cover a floor.
• CRI ≥83, Epistar SMD. ⚠ The same unusually precise figure as the BOOST-10, where the rest of this catalogue rounds to ≥80.
• 50,000 hours. 38 mm deep — ✅ shallow, which suits a tight void or a bulkhead.

⚠ Its IP44 carries a condition

The datasheet's wording is precise: "IP44 rating is from the underside of the downlight once installed into the ceiling."

• ✅ It means protection from the room side — a bathroom ceiling outside the shower zone, a laundry, a covered alfresco, subject to your electrician and AS/NZS 3000.
• ⛔ It does not mean the back of the fitting is sealed in the void, and it does not apply before installation.

⚠ Dimming: read the qualifier

The datasheet says "tested on the Domus dimmer series. May work on others but not tested."

• ⚠ That is materially weaker than "dimmable", and our record shows only the word.
• ⚠ This listing is also the DALI version, which dims over the DALI bus rather than from a wall dimmer — so on a DALI installation the dimmer caveat does not apply, and on a non-DALI one this is the wrong fitting.
• ✅ Tell us the control system and we will confirm the right variant.

⚠ Two things on its datasheet worth knowing about

• It carries a "4.5 Star Rating 11/2013" — an energy rating from November 2013. ⚠ That is over a decade old, and rating schemes and baselines have moved since. Do not use it in a current energy calculation.
• The cutout label is corrupted in the document we hold, though the figure itself (Ø90 mm) is legible and corroborated by the fascia and depth.

• ✅ Retrofit into existing Ø90 mm ceilings — the standard Australian aperture.
• ✅ Shallow voids and bulkheads — 38 mm deep.
• ✅ Buildings with a DALI control system.
• ✅ Bathrooms outside the shower zone, laundries — IP44 from the underside.
• ⛔ Not without a DALI system — ask us about the non-DALI variants.
• ⚠ Confirm the coolest colour setting with us if it matters: 5000 K or 5700 K.
