The Darien PE12 is a 1,210 mm twelve-light pendant with a Canadian ash outer ring and square-tube iron arms — twelve E14 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.
⚠ It weighs 13.6 kilograms, and nothing you could read said so. The figure sat in a datasheet field; the page had no weight row and our record none either.
13.6 kg on a 135 mm canopy is a structural question, not a fixing one. It is far beyond a ceiling rose or a plasterboard anchor, and on a two-metre suspension the mount takes movement as well as dead weight. Your electrician needs 13.6 kg and 1,210 mm across before the ceiling is opened — on a joisted ceiling it may need a noggin or a plate installed to carry it.
And a correction: our page listed the suspension as 20,000 mm — twenty metres. It is 2,000 mm.
It ended at “The recommended candle globe light source crowns the perimeter, casting a warm, inviting—”. Almost no product in this catalogue recommends a globe at all, and this one was making a good recommendation. In full:
Use candle-shaped E14 globes, not round ones.
Ask us for a matched set of twelve.
The outer ring is real timber, and specifically Canadian ash. That is not marketing detail:
Our product record carried no material at all for this fitting. The page had it right.
| Order code | Lights | Width | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PE12 | 12 | 1,210 mm | 800 mm | 13.6 kg |
| PE8 | 8 | 860 mm | 650 mm | 8.57 kg |
| PE6 | 6 | 660 mm | 560 mm | 6.27 kg |
Unusually for this catalogue, the Darien range scales honestly — each size is proportionally wider, taller and heavier, and each carries proportionally more light. There is no surprise in the middle of this range, which cannot be said of several others here.
At 1.21 metres and 800 mm deep, the twelve-light needs a large room and real ceiling height: a long dining table, a double-height entry, a stairwell. In an ordinary room it will dominate.
Twelve E14 to 25 W each — 300 W total, not supplied. E14 is the small screw base, SES. With LED candles at 4 to 6 W the real draw is around 60 W — a fifth of the rating — so the fitting runs cool and sits well inside its limit.
It dims, with the right globes — and neither our record nor the page's specification table mentioned dimming at all. The datasheet says globe dependent, which is right: nothing in a fitting holding twelve E14s prevents it.
Over a dining table, on a fitting with twelve exposed globes, dimming is the difference between a chandelier and a glare source. But twelve LEDs on one dimmer is the hardest flicker case in this range — do not mix brands, and let us match them to your dimmer.
Class I — earth required, canopy 135 × 23 mm, and IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. In Canadian ash and iron.
1,210 mm wide by 800 mm high, canopy 135 × 23 mm, suspension 2,000 mm, 13.6 kg — a STRUCTURAL fixing, in Canadian ash and iron. Twelve E14 (SES) candle globes to 25 W each — 300 W total, NOT supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Candle-shaped E14, not round ones — our page was cut off mid-sentence making exactly this recommendation. A candle globe stands upright on the ring so the twelve read as a crown of small flames around a timber circle, which is what the fitting is drawn for; a round golf-ball works electrically and breaks that line. Warm 2700 K, clear or lightly frosted, and buy all twelve together.
Yes — Canadian ash. That matters: ash is pale with a straight, open grain, so it reads clean and contemporary where a darker or figured timber would read rustic. Paired with black square-tube iron arms, that is what makes the Darien farmhouse without being country. Every ring is different, so yours will not match the photograph exactly.
2,000 mm. Our page published 20,000 mm — twenty metres — which is wrong by a factor of ten. The eight-light page has the same figure correctly.

No — that is the maximum, from when twelve globes meant twelve incandescent lamps. With LED candles at 4 to 6 watts the real draw is around 60 W, a fifth of the rating, and the fitting runs cool.
