A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
A square up/down wall light in black or white, carrying four 3W emitters for a total draw of 12W. It throws a cone up the wall and a cone down it, in a square body 100mm across.
This is the feature that separates the Versa from every other up/down fitting. The beam angle is adjustable from a tight 5° to a wide 120°, set on the fitting rather than fixed at manufacture.
That range covers two completely different effects from one product. At 5° the fitting throws a narrow blade of light straight up and down the wall — a hard architectural line that reads as deliberate on smooth render or stone. At 120° it becomes a broad wash that lights the wall and the ground around it. Most up/down fittings force you to choose that at the point of ordering; this one lets you decide against the actual wall, in place, at night.
It is worth using deliberately. Set a run of them to the same angle, and set them looking at the finished surface rather than on a workbench — the difference between the narrow and wide ends of the range is dramatic on a wall and invisible in your hand.
The Versa is tri-colour, with 3000K, 4000K or 5500K selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI, and Havit lists the fitting as Triac dimmable, so it works with a conventional LED-rated wall dimmer.
Between adjustable beam angle, selectable colour temperature and dimming, nearly everything about this fitting is set after it is on the wall — which is unusual and genuinely useful on a facade where the result is hard to predict from a drawing.
It runs on 240V AC mains and requires no driver. It is a Class 1 fitting and requires an earth connection, so installation is work for a licensed electrician.
The Versa is rated IP65 for dust and jetted water and IK08 for impact, so a fully exposed wall is within its rating. Mount it plumb — on an up/down fitting, and especially a square one, any lean is read against the wall's own lines and against the two cones at once.
From 5° to 120°, set on the fitting.
