Domus Deco-28 - Round 28W Led Colour Switchable Downlight Ip44 240V Trio

The Domus DECO-28 is a 28 W round commercial LED downlight with a deep-set frame, switchable tri-colour, CRI ≥80 and a Ø200–210 mm cutout. Black, white, or a 0–10 V version.

⛔ Cutout Ø200–210 mm — and the record gives a different number

• The hole is Ø200–210 mm. ⛔ That figure is on the datasheet and in no product field.
• ⚠ What the record does hold is Ø228 mm — the overall diameter of the fitting, not the cutout. Cutting a 228 mm hole would leave a fitting with no ceiling to sit on.
• ⭐ The 18 mm difference between the two is the flange, which is what covers the cut edge. It is also why the cutout is quoted as a range: anywhere in 200–210 mm is covered.
• ⛔ This is a widespread gap, not a one-off. Across 127 recessed Domus products only 40 hold a cutout field; on 43 the datasheet has it and no field does.

⭐ The DECO cutout ladder, as far as it is recorded

⚠ The cutout is not proportional to the wattage — it roughly triples between the 8 W and the 28 W. ⛔ So do not interpolate a figure for the DECO-18; ask us and we will get it from Domus.

Specifying it

• 28 W, 240 V AC, SMD.
• Tri-colour: 3000 K 2,300 lm · 4000 K 2,350 lm · 5700 K 2,400 lm, set by a dip switch at the back of the fitting — ⚠ so it is set before the fitting goes into the ceiling.
• CRI ≥80; 90° beam — ⭐ narrower than the DECO-15's 100°, which suits the commercial spaces this is built for.
• 43 mm housing depth — ⭐ the reason to choose it. An ultra-slim body fits where a conventional downlight has no plenum: a bulkhead, a shallow ceiling, a concrete soffit with a furring channel.
• 50,000 hrs. Complete with a dimmable LED driver and flex and plug.
• ⚠ IP44 “from the underside once installed into the ceiling” — not a general IP44. It describes the fitting in place with the ceiling closing off the top.

⭐ The dimming qualifier is the most precise in this catalogue

The datasheet says: “Tested on the Domus dimmer series. May work on others but not tested.”

• ⭐ That is a better answer than most manufacturers give, because it says exactly what was tested rather than the usual “suitable dimmers”.
• ⚠ Read it as written. On a Domus dimmer, dimming is tested. On anything else it is untested — not broken, but not guaranteed.
• ⭐ On a commercial job this is the fitting to pair with its own dimmer, or to specify the 0–10 V version instead and take the control out of the mains circuit entirely.
• Tell us the dimmer and the number of fittings on the circuit and we will confirm the combination.

⚠ Three variants, and one of them is not a colour

The options are Black, White and White/10v.

• ⚠ “White/10v” is a 0–10 V dimming version, not a finish — a control choice sitting in a colour list.
• ⭐ 0–10 V is a separate control pair run alongside the mains, so dimming does not depend on the mains dimmer at all. On a commercial fit-out that is usually the more reliable specification.
• ⛔ There is no black 0–10 V option. If you need 0–10 V control in black, ask us before designing around it.

Where it works

• Offices, waiting rooms, retail and reception — what the deep-set frame and the 90° beam are for.
• Shallow ceilings and bulkheads, where a 43 mm housing is the only thing that fits.
• Replacing power-hungry fluorescent downlights at a similar aperture.
• ⛔ Not into an existing smaller hole — Ø200–210 mm is a large aperture.
• ⚠ Not on an untested dimmer without asking us first.
