The Domus DECO-28 is a 28 W round commercial LED downlight with a deep-set frame, switchable tri-colour, CRI ≥80 and a Ø200–210 mm cutout. Black, white, or a 0–10 V version.
| Model | Cutout |
|---|---|
| DECO-8 | Ø70–75 mm |
| DECO-15 | Ø120–130 mm |
| DECO-28 (this one) | Ø200–210 mm |
| DECO-18 | ⛔ not recorded in any source |
⚠ The cutout is not proportional to the wattage — it roughly triples between the 8 W and the 28 W. ⛔ So do not interpolate a figure for the DECO-18; ask us and we will get it from Domus.
The datasheet says: “Tested on the Domus dimmer series. May work on others but not tested.”
The options are Black, White and White/10v.
28 W round LED downlight, deep-set frame, ultra-slim 43 mm housing. ⭐ Cutout Ø200–210 mm; overall diameter Ø228 mm. Tri-colour 3000 / 4000 / 5700 K by dip switch, 2,300 / 2,350 / 2,400 lm. CRI ≥80. 90° beam. 50,000 hrs. 240 V AC, dimmable driver with flex and plug. Black, White, or White 0–10 V. ✅ Warranty 3 years. ⛔ The cutout is on the datasheet and in no product field; the recorded Ø228 mm is the fitting, not the hole. ⚠ IP44 from the underside once installed — not a general IP44. ⚠ Dimming tested on the Domus dimmer series only. ⛔ Its web address begins "copy-of-".
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Ø200–210mm. Be careful here, because the product record holds Ø228mm and that is a different measurement — it is the overall diameter of the fitting, not the cutout. Cut a 228mm hole and the fitting has no ceiling to sit on. The 18mm difference between the two figures is the flange, which covers the cut edge. The cutout is quoted as a range, so anywhere between 200 and 210mm is covered.
Its datasheet is unusually specific: "Tested on the Domus dimmer series. May work on others but not tested." That is a better answer than the usual "suitable dimmers" because it says exactly what was verified — but read it as written. On a Domus dimmer, dimming is tested. On anything else it is untested rather than broken. On a commercial job, either pair it with its own dimmer or specify the 0–10V version and take dimming out of the mains circuit entirely. Tell us the dimmer and the fitting count and we will confirm.
A 0–10V dimming version, not a finish — a control choice sitting in a colour list, which is worth flagging because it is easy to miss. 0–10V runs a separate control pair alongside the mains, so dimming does not depend on the mains dimmer at all; on a commercial fit-out that is usually the more reliable specification. One limitation: there is no black 0–10V option, so if you need that combination ask us before designing around it.
The 43mm housing. An ultra-slim body fits where a conventional downlight has no plenum — a bulkhead, a shallow ceiling, a concrete soffit with only a furring channel behind it. That is usually the reason this range gets specified rather than the light output. The deep-set frame is the second reason: it recesses the source to cut glare, which matters in an office or a waiting room where people look up.
It depends on the zone, and the rating is qualified. The datasheet says IP44 "from the underside of the down light once installed into the ceiling" — describing the fitting in place with the ceiling closing off the top, not one on a bench or in a partially built ceiling. That covers a general ceiling; it is not a shower-zone rating. The same qualification appears on other Domus fittings, so it is a house pattern. Tell us the position and we will check it against the detail.
DECO-8 takes Ø70–75mm, DECO-15 takes Ø120–130mm and this DECO-28 takes Ø200–210mm. Note that it is not proportional to wattage — the hole roughly triples between the 8W and the 28W. So do not interpolate: the DECO-18's cutout is not recorded in any source we hold, and we would rather get it from Domus than guess it for you.
Three are switchable: 3000K at 2,300lm, 4000K at 2,350lm and 5700K at 2,400lm. For offices, retail and waiting rooms, 4000K is the usual specification. 3000K suits hospitality and reception areas where a warmer feel is wanted. Set it with the dip switch at the back of the fitting before it goes into the ceiling — it is not reachable afterwards.
