The Contec is the brightest and toughest fitting in Havit’s up-and-down wall range. It runs 2 × 5 W against the 3 W emitters used elsewhere in the group, and it is rated IK10 — the top of the impact scale — behind a glass diffuser on a poly powder-coated aluminium body. That makes it the pick for a driveway pier, a shared entry, or anywhere a light gets knocked.
It is available in black or white at the same specification and the same price.
Per direction it gives 420 lm at 3000K, 495 lm at 4000K and 490 lm at 5500K. Read that again: 4000K is the brightest setting, 5500K is marginally behind it, and 3000K trails by 75 lumens — a real gap, not a rounding difference. If maximum light is the goal, choose neutral white; warm white costs about 15% of the output. Those are per-direction figures; across both directions the fitting delivers roughly 840 to 990 lumens from 10 W.
Colour temperature is set on a switch inside the fitting during installation, so it is decided once by the electrician rather than adjusted later.
Two things separate the Contec from its stablemates, and both are worth knowing before ordering. The beam is fixed at 120° — a wide, even wash. Unlike the Celes and the Versa in the same range, it does not adjust, so it produces broad coverage rather than a narrow grazing stripe. And it is not dimmable: Havit states that on the data sheet and in the installation instructions, and makes no dimming claim on the product page. A dimmer should not be fitted to it.
The LED modules are not serviceable either — Havit says explicitly not to attempt replacing them — but they are rated beyond 30,000 hours, the longest life figure in this group.
Havit is unusually specific about this fitting. It states that aluminium fittings should not be installed within 5 km of salt water environments, which rules out coastal addresses. It is for exterior wall mounting only — not in-ground, not underwater, not submerged. High-pressure water must be avoided, so keep pressure washers and irrigation spray off it even though it is IP65. It must not be installed where water can pool around the cable entries, and it must not be covered with insulation or combustible material.
It is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth, wired to 240 V mains with no driver. Havit makes the sealing steps warranty conditions: seal the cable entry and screw penetrations with exterior-grade silicone, keep every IP65 gasket in place, and run silicone around the perimeter where the fitting meets the wall. Glare is UGR under 25 with CRI above 80 and SDCM under 5. Dimensions are given only as an unlabelled drawing, so no figures have been invented here — refer to the mounting-bracket drawing before drilling.
Lights For You supplies the Contec in both finishes on Havit’s 3 years replacement warranty.
4000K, at 495 lm per direction. 5500K is just behind at 490 lm and 3000K is the dimmest at 420 lm — about 15% less than the peak. Cooler is not automatically brighter on this fitting, and warm white costs a noticeable amount of output.
No. Havit states "Dimmable: No" on both the data sheet and the installation instructions and makes no dimming claim on its product page. A dimmer should not be fitted. If dimming is needed, the Versa square in the same range is Triac dimmable.
No — it is fixed at 120°, a wide even wash. This is the one fitting in this range that does not adjust; the Celes and both Versa models offer an adjustable 5–120° beam if a narrow grazing effect is wanted.
No. Havit states that aluminium fittings should not be installed within 5 km of salt water environments, and this body is aluminium. For a seaside address the polycarbonate Celes in the same range is listed by Havit as coastal-suitable.
No. Havit specifically says to avoid direct high-pressure water from pressure washers or irrigation systems. IP65 is tested against a defined water jet, which is not the same as a pressure washer, and it also asks that the fitting not be installed where water can pool around the cable entries.
No. Havit states the built-in LED module is non-serviceable and should not be replaced. It is rated beyond 30,000 hours, which is the longest life figure of any fitting in this range.
It is the highest impact rating on the scale, and it is why this fitting suits driveway piers, shared entries, garages and anywhere a wall light is likely to be knocked. The other fittings in this range are IK04 to IK06.
