The Domus CHESTER 2LT 2.47 m is the tallest twin-head post in the range — 660 mm across the two lanterns, die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lenses, IP43, taking two B22 lamps.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⭐ There is a replacement lens for this lantern, and no listing says so

Its datasheet carries a line reading “Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket Straight Arm Facing Up”. GT-131 is the CHESTER series code, not a part number — every traditional-lantern family in this catalogue has one, and each has a matching GTA replacement diffuser.

• ⭐ For CHESTER that is the GTA-131 panel set, sold separately.
• ⭐ On a die-cast aluminium lantern the acrylic is the part that fails. UV yellows and embrittles it over years while the cast body lasts decades — so a lantern that looks finished is usually a lantern needing a lens, not a new fitting.
• ✅ Ask us for the panel set rather than replacing a post.
• ✅ And nothing extra is required to install this one. The line is three things on the sheet run together: “Requires: Lamp” (true — the lamp is not included), the series code, and a diagram caption.

⛔ The biggest wind load in the range, and no rating for it

• ⛔ No footing depth, base plate size, fixing pattern or wind rating is recorded on any CHESTER post.
• ⚠ This configuration is the worst case: two lanterns on arms, 660 mm apart at 2,420 mm. More sail area and more lever arm than anything else in the family.
• ⭐ A post that leans is worse than one that falls, because it looks wrong for years. The footing is set in concrete long before anyone tests the light.
• ⭐ Tell us the site and the soil and we will get the footing detail from Domus. This is the thing to settle on this product.

⛔ Two lamp holders, no wattage figure of any kind

• ⛔ No per-lamp maximum and no total for the two. Neither the record nor the datasheet gives either.
• ⭐ With two holders this is a circuit question. Two 60 W incandescents is 120 W on one post, and nothing confirms the fitting supports it.
• ✅ Two B22 LEDs at 9–11 W each — 18–22 W between them is what we would fit.
• ⚠ Matched lamps, bought together, and more so here: both lenses are above head height and in view at once.

⭐ 2.47 m twin, and where it belongs

• ✅ The widest coverage of any two-head CHESTER — one post replaces several singles at an entrance or a turning circle.
• ⚠ It reads as municipal on a domestic frontage. At nearly 2.5 m with two lanterns it belongs on a long drive, a rural entrance or a commercial approach.
• ⭐ The 2.4 m curved-arm twin is the alternative — 70 mm lower, 630 mm wide rather than 660 mm, and the curved arms soften the silhouette considerably.

⭐ Thirteen configurations, sixteen listings

The CHESTER head is sold as a wall bracket (four arm types), pillar mount, post top and pendant, plus singles at 1.32 / 1.96 / 2.37 m, twins at 1.49 / 2.11 / 2.47 m and 2.4 m curved, and triples at 2.47 m and 2.4 m curved. ⭐ There is also a CHESTER-LARGE range in the same style at a bigger scale. ⚠ No listing mentions any of the others.
