DOMUS CHESTER 2LT 1.49M POSTLIGHT

The Domus CHESTER 2LT is a twin-head post light on a 1.49 m post — 660 mm wide across the two lanterns, die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lenses, IP43, taking two B22 lamps.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ A twin at 1.49 m is an unusual thing, and worth understanding before buying

• Most twin-head posts exist to light an area from above head height. At 1.49 m these two lanterns sit below eye level for most adults.
• ⭐ So this is not a brighter area light — it is a wider, more symmetrical low one. Two pools of light 660 mm apart rather than one, at path height.
• ✅ Which is exactly right flanking a gate, a step or a driveway entrance, where the symmetry does the work and the height keeps it domestic.
• ⚠ It is the wrong choice if you wanted more light over a wider area. For that, the 2.11 m or 2.47 m twin puts the same two lanterns above head height and spreads properly.
• ⚠ And at 660 mm wide it needs the space. Nearly three times the single head’s 235 mm — check the clearance beside a path or a car door.

⛔ Two lamp holders, and no wattage figure of any kind

• ⛔ No per-lamp maximum is recorded, and no total for the two together. Neither the product record nor the datasheet gives either.
• ⭐ With two holders that stops being a globe question and becomes a circuit one. Two 60 W incandescents would be 120 W on one post, and nothing confirms the fitting or its wiring supports it.
• ✅ Two B22 LEDs at 9–11 W each draw 18–22 W between them and run cool. That is what we would fit, and it removes the question entirely.
• ⚠ Ask us before fitting anything but LED.
• ⚠ Both lamps identical, bought together — two different globes in a symmetrical pair is immediately obvious after dark.

⛔ And no footing specification, on a fitting with an off-centre load

• ⛔ No footing depth, base plate size, fixing pattern or wind rating in any source.
• ⚠ A twin head loads the base asymmetrically in a way a single does not — two lanterns on arms either side catch wind and shift the centre of mass off the post axis.
• ⭐ Tell us the site and we will get the footing detail from Domus.

⭐ The same lantern, thirteen ways

The CHESTER head is made as a wall bracket, pillar mount, post top and pendant, and on nine post arrangements — singles at 1.32, 1.96 and 2.37 m, twins at 1.49 m (this one), 2.11 m, 2.47 m and a 2.4 m curved arm, and triples at 2.47 m and 2.4 m curved.

• ⭐ The curved-arm twin is the same 2.4 m height as the curved triple — so there the choice is arm shape and head count, not height.
• ⛔ The shared sheet is why it says “Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket” on a post. 106 products across nine lantern families carry that line, 79 where it is self-contradictory. Nothing extra is needed.

A 60 mm gap. ⚠ Across all 36 Domus posts there is no convention — CHESTER, PARIS, TURIN and MONACO record below their titles, AVIGNON above, VIENNA exactly. Ask us if the height matters.

• Either side of a front path, as a matched pair of pairs.
• Wide beds and low frontages where a tall post would dominate.
