The Domus CELL-S1 is a single slotter frame for the CELL downlight module series, 100 × 100 × 50 mm, in black or white.
⛔ The module is sold separately. This is the frame only.
CELL is a two-part system: a frame recessed into the ceiling, and a module that clips into it. ✅ That separation is the whole point — one aperture can take a fixed downlight, a tiltable one, or a different wattage, and you can change your mind years later without touching the ceiling.
The cutout depends on which module you use:
| Module | Cutout |
|---|---|
| Standard CELL modules | Ø70–75 mm |
| CELL-K75 and CELL-P75 | Ø85 mm |
⚠ Those figures are on the datasheet and in no product field. Decide the module before the ceiling is marked — the two are not interchangeable once it is cut.
Black recedes into the aperture and reduces the apparent glare of the module behind it — which is why black trims are common on anti-glare fittings. White disappears into a white ceiling.
✅ Match the frame to the module unless the contrast is deliberate.
Single slotter frame for the Domus CELL downlight module series. 100 × 100 × 50 mm. Black or white.
Cutout Ø70–75 mm for standard CELL modules, or Ø85 mm for the CELL-K75 and CELL-P75 — ⚠ those figures are on the datasheet and in no product field. ⛔ The CELL module is sold separately, and whether it includes a driver varies across the range. Warranty 3 years. Tell us which module you are using and we will confirm the cutout and list the full set before anyone marks a ceiling. ✅ A two-aperture version, the CELL-S2, takes the same modules.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No — this is the frame only, and the CELL module is sold separately. CELL is a two-part system: a frame recessed into the ceiling and a module that clips into it. That separation is the point, because one aperture can take a fixed downlight, a tiltable one or a different wattage, and you can change it years later without touching the ceiling.
It depends on the module. Standard CELL modules take Ø70–75 mm; the CELL-K75 and CELL-P75 take Ø85 mm. Those figures are on the datasheet and in no product field, so they will not appear in a specification pulled from our record. Decide the module before the ceiling is marked, because the two are not interchangeable once it is cut.
The single (CELL-S1) is the general-purpose choice, repeated across a ceiling. The two-light (CELL-S2) is for where a pair needs to be aligned and evenly spaced without careful setting out — over a bench, in a bulkhead, in a hallway where a pair is repeated — and it also lets you mix a fixed and a tiltable module in one trim. Both are 50 mm deep and take the same modules, so they mix in one room.
It reads as deliberate in a modern ceiling, particularly repeated in a grid or a line, where a round trim tends to read as a hole. It is also more forgiving: a 100 mm square over a Ø75 mm aperture hides a slightly ragged cut. The trade-off is that a square trim shows rotation — round ones hide it — so a run has to be set out square to the walls rather than by eye.
It is 50 mm deep, which suits most voids. Check the clearance above and, if the module has a separate driver, where that will sit — a shallow void with a driver to house is a tighter problem than the frame depth alone suggests.
It varies across the CELL module range. Ask us and we will confirm with the quote — it is exactly the sort of thing that holds up an installation when it is assumed rather than checked.
Usually. Black recedes into the aperture and reduces the apparent glare of the module behind it, which is why black trims are common on anti-glare fittings; white disappears into a white ceiling. A contrast is a legitimate look, but only if it is deliberate — tell us what you are after and we will quote the set to match.
