Cedro 5 LED Pendant Light

The Cedro PE5 is a 440 mm five-light LED pendant in sand-finished black with smoke glass shades — 40 W giving 2,850 lm, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, on a 3,000 mm suspension.

Five shades at 70 mm deep — a cluster, not a chandelier

The whole fitting is only 70 mm high at the frame, with 150 mm shades hanging from a 440 mm spread. That gives you five points of light on a nearly invisible frame — the opposite of a chandelier, where the structure is the object. Over a dining table it reads as lights floating in a group.

Smoke glass, and what it costs you

Smoke glass is tinted, so it absorbs light — that is the trade you are making for the look. The Cedro answers it by using five sources instead of one: at 2,850 lm total it is genuinely bright enough to be a dining table’s main light, which a single smoke-glass pendant would not be. Efficiency works out at 71 lm/W, which is sound for a tinted fitting.

A 3-metre suspension tells you where it goes

3,000 mm of cable — a metre more than most pendants in this range. That is deliberate: it is built for high ceilings, voids and stairwells as well as ordinary rooms, and it shortens at install. At 4.2 kg the ceiling fixing is worth a moment’s thought, and the canopy is a substantial 320 mm.

Three colour temperatures, chosen at the fitting

3000 K warm, 4000 K natural, 5000 K cool, switchable. Through smoke glass the warm setting reads amber and low and the cool setting reads grey and sharp — a bigger difference than on clear or opal glass, so it is worth trying all three once it is up.

One of a family of three

Cedro comes as a one-light, a four-light and this five-light, all sharing the sand finish and smoke glass. The single suits a bedside or a bench; the five is the table fitting.
