The Cashel is a 900 mm exterior bollard in black or corten — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — IP65, in aluminium and polycarbonate.
Dust-tight and rated against water jets from any direction. On a bollard that is not a nicety: it sits at ground level in a garden bed or beside a path, where it takes sprinklers, run-off, driving rain and the hose. Most wall lights in this catalogue sit at IP44 and would not last there.
Choose the globe carefully — it is not supplied, and this is a sealed fitting. No source gave any guidance, and it matters more here than on an indoor lamp:
Ask us and we will match one.
Nearly every outdoor light in this range has a sealed integrated LED: when the diode fails, the fitting is finished and you dig up a bollard. The Cashel takes a standard E27, so in ten years you unscrew the top and change a globe. On a fitting that is set into the ground, that is a substantial practical advantage and it was never mentioned.
Nearly a metre, and slim — a 95 mm column on a 135 mm base. At that height the light falls from above knee level onto the path, which is what a bollard should do: it lights the ground you walk on without shining in your eyes. Shorter bollards light less path; taller ones start to glare.
The 1,000 mm cable is what determines how far the connection point can be from the bollard — plan that before the paving goes down.
Corten is the weathered rust look, and in a garden it does something black cannot: it sits naturally against mulch, timber, brick and planting and reads as part of the landscape rather than as equipment. Black is the sharper, more architectural choice against paving and rendered walls.
⚠ The body is aluminium and polycarbonate. Near the coast, salt attacks aluminium — it pits and fixings seize — where polycarbonate does not. The Cashel will do well inland and in ordinary suburban gardens; for a beachfront site, tell us and we will talk through the trade-off before you order several.
It is Class I — earth required and hard-wired, so a licensed electrician installs it — correctly, on this page. Dimming depends on the globe: our record carries no value and the datasheet says no, but a fitting that simply holds an E27 will dim if the globe and the dimmer do. Ask us if that matters.
900 mm high by 95 mm wide, base 135 mm, cable 1,000 mm, in aluminium and polycarbonate. One E27 globe to 25 W, NOT supplied and replaceable; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP65 — dust-tight and jet-rated; suitable for exposed positions. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No — one E27 to 25 W, your choice. That is an advantage: nearly every other outdoor light in this range has a sealed integrated LED, and when the diode fails the fitting is finished. Here you unscrew the top and change a globe.
An LED rated for enclosed fittings. An IP65 bollard is sealed and heat with nowhere to go kills LED globes — many are rated for open fittings only, printed on the box. Do not use an incandescent. Choose 2700 K for a garden path or 4000 K where you want it to read as security lighting, and ask us and we will match one.
Yes — IP65 is dust-tight and rated against water jets from any direction, which is what a bollard at ground level actually meets: sprinklers, run-off, driving rain and the hose.
