Product Description
xThe Domus CARTER-PDT is a paper rope pendant on matt black metalware, in small (Ø170 mm), medium (Ø275 mm) or large (Ø405 mm), with a black or natural shade and a single E27 lamp holder.
⛔ Maximum 25 W. This is the number to get right, and it is lower than an E27 holder normally allows.
Most E27 fittings take up to 60 W. This one takes 25 W, because the shade is paper rope — a natural fibre wrapped close around the lamp. ⚠ Fitting an ordinary 60 W incandescent or halogen globe would exceed the limit inside a paper shade.
✅ With LED this is a non-issue and you lose nothing. A 9–11 W LED E27 gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did, runs cool, and sits comfortably under the limit. Buy an LED globe for this pendant. ✅ Our record's 25 W is correct here — unusually for this range, where several other lamp-holder fittings record a wattage that is not.

- ✅ The cable is long on all three and is cut to length at installation — those figures are the maximum, not a fixed drop.
- Over a dining table: the bottom of the shade 700–900 mm above the table top.
- Over a breakfast bar: small or medium, in a row. Over a dining table: one large, or three small at even spacing.
- ⚠ A large shade at Ø405 mm is a substantial object. Check it against the table width and against sight lines across the room.
What paper rope does to the light
- It is a woven natural fibre, so the light comes through warm and slightly textured rather than as a hard-edged beam.
- ✅ Down through the open bottom, softly through the weave. That combination lights a table without leaving the rest of the room dark.
- ✅ Natural reads as light oak and warm neutrals; black reads graphic and disappears against a dark ceiling.
- ⚠ It is a fibre shade. Not for a kitchen directly over a cooktop, not for a bathroom, and it will hold dust — a vacuum brush attachment, not a wet cloth.
Choosing the globe
- Over a table: a 9–11 W LED E27, around 800–1,000 lm at 3000 K, opal.
- ⚠ Opal, not clear. The bottom of the shade is open and people sit below it — a clear filament globe puts a bright point in the eyeline of everyone at the table.
- Dimming depends on the globe, not the pendant. Buy a dimmable E27 and a compatible dimmer.

Questions
What is the maximum globe wattage?

How far down does it hang?
1,815 mm on the small, 1,915 mm on the medium and 2,065 mm on the large — but those are maximums. The cable is cut to length at installation, so the drop is yours to set. Over a dining table, aim for the bottom of the shade 700–900 mm above the table top.
Should I use a clear or an opal globe?
Opal. The bottom of the shade is open and people sit beneath it, so a clear filament globe puts a bright point directly in the eyeline of everyone at the table. Opal at 3000 K, around 800–1,000 lumens, is the right answer over a dining surface.
Can it go over a cooktop or in a bathroom?
No to both. It is a woven natural-fibre shade, so it does not belong above a cooktop where it will collect grease and heat, and it is not rated for a bathroom. Over a dining table, a breakfast bar or in a living room is where it belongs.
How do I clean it?
A vacuum brush attachment, gently. Paper rope holds dust in the weave and a wet cloth will mark it. Doing it occasionally is much easier than trying to recover a shade that has been left for years.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
