The Domus CARTER-FL is a paper rope floor lamp on matt black metalware, 1,560 mm tall with a Ø280 mm shade, taking a single E27 lamp, in black or natural.

⚠ This lamp appears twice in our catalogue. The same product, the same part numbers, on two separate pages under slightly different names.

⛔ And the number that matters on this lamp: maximum 25 W. Most E27 fittings take 60 W. This one takes 25, because the shade is paper rope — a natural fibre wrapped close around the lamp. ✅ With an LED globe you lose nothing: 9–11 W gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did.

1,560 mm — a proper floor-lamp height

What paper rope gives, and what it asks
  • A woven natural fibre, so light comes through warm and slightly textured.

What is the maximum globe wattage?

25 W, which is lower than an E27 holder normally allows — most take 60 W. The reason is the shade: paper rope is a natural fibre wrapped close around the lamp. With LED it is a non-issue, because a 9–11 W LED E27 gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did and runs cool. Never fit an incandescent or halogen above 25 W.

How tall is it, and how much floor does it take?

1,560 mm tall on a 415 mm base. That height puts the shade above head height for someone seated and just below eye level for someone standing, which is where a floor lamp needs to be to light a chair without glaring at the room. The base is wider than a slim floor lamp, so allow a little more room beside a sofa arm.

Should I use a clear or an opal globe?

Opal. The bottom of the shade is open and sits at about standing eye level, so a clear filament globe is visible to anyone walking past. Opal at 3000 K, around 800–1,000 lumens, is the right answer for reading beside a chair.

Will it light a whole room?

It will light a chair or a sofa generously — the Ø280 mm shade throws a wide enough pool for two people rather than one reader — and it will lift a corner. It is not a substitute for a ceiling light in a large room, but in a rental or a room with no ceiling point it does a great deal.

How do I clean the shade?

A vacuum brush attachment, gently. Paper rope holds dust in the weave and a wet cloth will mark it. For the same reason it does not belong near a cooktop.

Is there a matching table lamp or pendant?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
