A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Brillo is the aluminium version of the same body as Havit's Dek — identical 36 mm hole, identical Ø45 mm face, identical 63 mm depth, identical IP67 rating — and the reason it costs less is the face. Where the Dek's cover is 316 stainless steel, the Brillo's is aluminium over an aluminium body. It is sold as HV2894T-BLK-12V, poly powder coated black, and HV2894T-WHT-12V, poly powder coated white.
Havit's own documents disagree with each other about this model. Its light output is given one way on both revisions of the model's data sheet and another way on Havit's website, where the figures shown are the ones its stainless-faced sibling carries — so we are not publishing an output figure for the Brillo until Havit confirms which is right. Its lamp expectancy is likewise stated one way on the October 2023 revision of its data sheet and the opposite way on the March 2024 revision, with no figure at all on Havit's product page, so no life figure is published either. Ask us before you order if either matters to your design and we will put it to Havit. We would rather leave a gap than print a number we cannot stand behind.
The Brillo is IP67 — rated for temporary immersion, which is what you want in ground that may briefly flood, and a better rating than the fittings elsewhere in this part of Havit's catalogue that are protected only against water jets. It is not permission to leave the fitting submerged. Drainage is a warranty condition and Havit specifies it: a 100 mm space beneath the canister, 100 mm to 150 mm of crushed rock under that, and a slight fall on the finished ground so water runs away. Installation type is Ground or Wall – Recessed; the cutout is 36 mm without a canister and 38 mm with one, and the canister sits flush with the finished ground. Impact rating is IK08.
It runs on 12 V DC from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V. The voltage arriving at the fitting must be within ±5% of the rated figure and the fitting must sit no more than 25 m from its driver, or Havit voids the warranty. Each fitting carries a 500 mm tail and multiple fittings are wired in parallel, with every joint soldered and sealed using adhesive lined heat shrink or a gel cap. It is dimmable on a 12 V DC dimmable LED driver; Havit's HV9625 Triac dimmer is the wall control it lists for that.
The source is a built-in LED — no globe, no socket, nothing user-replaceable. It is tri-colour, 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, and the setting is made in the wiring at installation rather than on a switch: the neutral cables are marked 3000k and 5500k, and joining both to the driver's neutral gives 4000K. The unused cable must be terminated and sealed. The beam is 36°. Because face and body are both aluminium, Havit's exclusion applies in full: aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments. Lights For You publishes this page from the HV2894T data sheet, its March 2024 revision and the HV2893T/HV2894T installation instructions, under Havit's 3 Years Replacement warranty for items ordered after 01/01/2022.
Because Havit's sources disagree. Both revisions of the Brillo's own data sheet and the Brillo column of its installation instructions give one set of figures, and Havit's website shows the figures that belong to the stainless-faced Dek. Rather than pick one, we have left the figure off and raised it with Havit. Ask us before ordering if output is critical to your design.
The face. Both use the same body — 36 mm hole, Ø45 mm face, 63 mm deep, IP67, IK08, 3 W, 36°, 500 mm tail. The Dek's cover is 316 stainless steel over an aluminium body; the Brillo's cover is aluminium. That is why the Brillo costs less, and it is also why the Dek is the one to choose where the fitting will be walked on hard or exposed to weather for decades.
No. Havit's installation instructions state that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments, and both the face and the body of this fitting are aluminium. That is a siting exclusion rather than a maintenance note.
The cutout is 36 mm without a canister and 38 mm with one. The face is Ø45 mm and sits on the surface, with 63 mm of body behind it, so allow depth for the fitting plus the drainage detail underneath.
With a dimmable 12 V DC LED driver — the dimming is done at the driver, not in the fitting. Havit lists its HV9625 Triac dimmer as the wall control to pair with a Triac-dimmable driver.
Yes. Havit gives the installation type as Ground or Wall – Recessed, so the same fitting recesses into a rendered or masonry wall. In a wall the drainage detail does not apply, but the 5 km salt water exclusion still does.
No. It is a built-in LED with no globe and no socket, so the fitting is replaced at end of life rather than relamped.
