The Brex DL93 is a 93 mm recessed LED downlight in white — 10 W giving 870 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 90, TRIAC dimmable, 85 mm cutout.
⚠ This is a CLEARANCE item with a ONE-YEAR warranty, not three. Our page promised three years. The Telbix datasheet says “Clearance item — 1 year warranty”, and that is the term that applies. Two consequences: the warranty is one year, and stock is finite — if you need matching fittings for a whole house, check availability with us before you commit to the look.
The Brex sits its LED well back inside the fitting. That does one thing very well: you cannot see the source from a normal standing or seated angle, so there is no bright spot in your peripheral vision as you move through a room. In a bedroom ceiling, or anywhere you look up, that is the difference between a comfortable ceiling and a glary one. It costs a little output — 870 lm from 10 W, 87 lm/W, where a shallower fitting gives more — and that is a deliberate trade.
Most downlights sit at 80. Above 90 means food, timber, skin and fabric hold their true colour. Over a kitchen bench or in a bathroom that is where the difference shows most clearly.
Our record said simply IP44. The datasheet is more precise: IP44 (room side) — the visible face is protected against splashing water, so it suits a bathroom ceiling outside the shower zone, while the back of the fitting in the ceiling void is not weather-rated. That is the normal arrangement for a recessed bathroom downlight, and the wording matters to your electrician.
An 85 mm hole is the common Australian size, so it drops into most existing ceilings when replacing older fittings. The face is 93 mm, a 4 mm overlap. Allow 100 mm of depth above the ceiling — more than the shallower fittings in this catalogue, because of the recessed reflector.
36° is narrower than the usual 60, giving a tighter, lower-glare pool — so space them closer than a wide downlight. Dimming is TRIAC, the ordinary leading-edge wall dimmer, with surge protection built in and a drive current of 240 mA. IC-4 means it may be covered by ceiling insulation.
⚠ It is Class III — low voltage — so it runs on a driver. Normally supplied with a downlight, but no source we hold confirms it. Ask us before you order a run.
93 mm face, 85 mm cutout, 100 mm depth, tail 950 mm, in polycarbonate. Integrated 10 W COB LED giving 870 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >90, 36° beam, 240 mA, TRIAC dimmable, surge protection, IC-4. 240 V, Class III — low voltage; driver required, not confirmed as supplied, IP44 from the room side. CLEARANCE ITEM — warranty is ONE year.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
One. Our page promised three; the Telbix datasheet says “Clearance item — 1 year warranty”, and that is the term that applies. We would rather correct it now than have you find out at claim time.
Because this size is being cleared. The 70 mm carries five years; this one carries one as a clearance term. It is not a fault in the product — it is the condition of sale.
Check with us before you commit. Clearance stock is finite, so if you need matching fittings across a whole house, confirm availability first rather than part way through.
