Brevan 5 Pendant Light

The Brevan PE5 is a 690 mm five-light pendant in antique gold or black with alabaster-effect glass shades — five E27 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, on a 1,500 mm suspension.

“Alabastro” — what it means and what it does

Our page called the shades “alabastro”, the Italian trade term for alabaster-effect glass: white, dense and faintly veined, made to look like the stone.

The behaviour is what matters. Clear glass reveals the globe; frosted glass gives a flat even panel. Alabaster glass is slightly uneven in density, so it glows with a soft cloudiness that varies across each shade — and across five shades that variation gives the fitting depth rather than five identical glowing balls.

Five lights across 690 mm — the domestic size

690 mm wide by 368 mm high. This is the Brevan for a normal dining room — it suits a table of about 1.4 metres, where the 910 mm eight-light wants 1.8 and up. At five globes to 25 W it is still comfortably the room's main light.

Five globes — and the glass makes it simple

Five E27 to 25 W each, none supplied. The alabaster glass hides the globes, so the choice is brightness and warmth only — no decorative filaments, and no need for the five to match visually.

Use warm 2700 K, particularly in antique gold, where cool white reads green.

Antique gold or black

Against white glass the two do opposite things. Antique gold is warm and tonal — metal and glass sit close together and the fitting reads as one soft object. Black is high contrast: the frame becomes a graphic outline and the five white shades read as bright points within it.

690 mm wide by 368 mm high, canopy 120 mm, suspension 1,500 mm, in iron and alabaster-effect glass, satin. Weight is not recorded — ask us. Five E27 globes to 25 W each — 125 W total, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
