Product Description
xThe Brea is a 75 mm square recessed stair light with a built-in 3 W LED — the square counterpart to the round Snap. It sits flush in the wall beside a staircase and washes the tread below.
This is an INDOOR step light. It is rated IP20, which offers no water protection. Step lights are often assumed to be outdoor fittings; this one belongs on an internal staircase, a hallway skirting or a cinema aisle. For external steps you need an IP65 fitting — ask us and we will point you at one.
Choose the colour temperature at order, not on site
Unlike the switchable fittings elsewhere in this range, the Brea's colour is fixed by order
code: BREA 3-BK83 is 3000 K warm white,
BREA 3-BK85 is 5000 K cool white. You cannot change it afterwards, so
decide before ordering. On a staircase, the cooler option gives crisper definition between tread and
riser; the warmer suits a hallway where atmosphere matters more than edge definition.
Square rather than round
A square face reads as more architectural and lines up with square skirting details and tiles. The round Snap is the softer alternative — same job, different geometry.
Where it works
- Internal staircases, one every two or three treads at a consistent height.
- Hallways, low in the wall as night guidance.
- Home cinemas, marking aisles without lifting room light.
- Bedrooms, as low-level guidance to an ensuite.
Specifying it
75 mm square, in aluminium, black. Built-in 3 W LED giving 240 lm, CRI above 84, beam 30°. Not dimmable. 240 V, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Set every fitting at the same height above the tread — inconsistent heights down a staircase are very visible at night.
Questions
Can I use it outdoors?
No. It is IP20 with no water protection. For external steps you need an IP65 fitting — ask us and we will point you at one.
Can I change the colour temperature?
No. It is fixed by order code — BREA 3-BK83 is 3000 K and BREA 3-BK85 is 5000 K. Decide before ordering.
Which colour should I pick for a staircase?
5000 K gives crisper definition between tread and riser. 3000 K suits a hallway where atmosphere matters more.
How bright is it?
240 lm from a 3 W LED, with CRI above 84 — enough to light the step, not the room.
How is it different from the Snap?
The Brea is square, the Snap is round. Same job, different geometry.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
