BLISS-10-10W LED Tri-Colour Downlight

The Domus BLISS-10 is a 10 W flat-face LED downlight in black or white — 800 lumens, IP54, a 120° beam, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5700 K, only 33.5 mm deep, and a five-year warranty.

⚠ The top setting is 5700 K, not 5000 K

Our record says 5000 K; the datasheet says 5700 K, which is colder and bluer. It is set on a dip switch at the back, before installation, and cannot be changed afterwards.

• 3000 K — bedrooms and living rooms.
• 4000 K — the default: kitchens, hallways, laundries, studies.
• ⚠ 5700 K — garage and workshop territory.

✅ IP54 — dust protection, and why that outlasts everything else

Most general-purpose downlights are IP20 — indoor and dry only. IP54 adds dust protection and splash resistance from any direction:

• Dust cannot accumulate inside the lens, which is what actually dims a downlight over ten years in an Australian house.
• Usable in a bathroom outside the shower zone, a laundry or a covered outdoor ceiling — subject to your electrician and AS/NZS 3000.

Flat face and an opal diffuser

• The flat face nearly disappears — switched off you see a ring and little else.
• The opal diffuser spreads the source, so despite the flat fascia there is no single bright point to look at. ✅ That combination — flat and diffused — is more comfortable than a flat fitting with a clear lens.
• At 33.5 mm it is among the shallowest here, second only to the TEK's 31 mm.

⚠ Polyamide, not aluminium

The body is polyamide — an engineering nylon — where most downlights here are aluminium. That is a deliberate cost decision in a range the manufacturer describes as “incorporating cost saving materials”.

• ✅ It cannot corrode, which is a genuine advantage in a bathroom or a coastal-adjacent house.
• ⚠ Polymer conducts heat less well than aluminium, and heat is what shortens LED life. Domus specify a thermal management system in this range for exactly that reason — and the 40,000-hour life, against 50,000 for the aluminium ranges, is where the difference shows.

• 750 lm at 3000 K, 780 lm at 4000 K, 800 lm at 5700 K.
• 78 lm/W, CRI ≥83 — slightly better colour than the CRI 80 typical of this class.
• Cutout Ø90 mm, face Ø110 mm, height 33.5 mm.
• Fully dimmable with a suitable dimmer; dimmable driver and flex-and-plug supplied.

Where it works

• General room lighting throughout a house — about 2.5 m apart, so fewer fittings.
• Bathrooms outside the shower zone, laundries and covered ceilings — IP54.
• Shallow ceilings — 33.5 mm.
• ⚠ Not an accent light — a 120° beam lights everything.
• ⚠ 40,000 hours, not 50,000.
