The Domus BF-2601B is a 120 mm square raw ceramic wall light, 150 mm tall with a 120 mm projection, supplied unpainted.

⛔ How many lamps it takes is not settled — and we will not guess

Its datasheet says both. The specification field reads “Requires 2xG9 Lamp”. The prose on the same sheet reads “Requires : 1 x G9 lamp”.

  • ⭐ The range points to one. Every other A/B pair in this ceramic family shares a lamp count and differs only in which way the light comes out — the BF-2607A and BF-2607B both take one G9, the BF-2608A and BF-2608B both take two. The BF-2601A takes one.
  • ⭐ So two independent things agree: the sheet’s own prose, and the way the rest of the range is built. Both say one G9.
  • ⛔ We are still not publishing it as a fact, because the consequence falls on you: a buyer who orders one globe and needs two has a half-lit fitting on the wall and another trip to make.
  • ✅ Ask us before you order globes and we will open one. That is a five-minute answer and it costs you nothing.
⭐ The wattage, which is settled
  • 60 W is the maximum per lamp, not for the fitting. Across all 17 G9 fittings in the BF range the sheet says 60 W whether the fitting takes one lamp or two — so it cannot be a total. The BF-2185 (one G9, 40 W) shows it tracks the lamp, and the BF-2020 states “2x60W” in its own title.
  • ⚠ Which means the lamp-count question does not change your wiring. Whether it is one G9 or two, an LED G9 at 4 W makes the load trivial either way. The question is only how many globes to buy.
What raw ceramic means
  • ✅ Unfinished on arrival, painted by you — any water-based paint.
  • ⚠ Porous until painted, so it marks.
  • ⚠ Indoor, dry areas only.
  • ✅ Made in Italy, body-coloured throughout.
Where it works
  • A narrow pier or a wall between openings — at 120 mm square it is compact, and the 150 mm height makes it read as a block rather than a band.
  • Repeated along a hallway, where the square form holds a rhythm.
  • ⚠ Check the 120 mm projection in a tight passage.
  • ⚠ Not on a poorly finished wall.

Questions
How many globes do I need to buy?

Ask us first — the datasheet says both. Its specification field reads "Requires 2xG9 Lamp" and its own prose, on the same sheet, reads "Requires : 1 x G9 lamp". Our reading is one, on two independent grounds: the sheet's prose says so, and every other A/B pair in this range shares a lamp count between the two versions — the BF-2607A and B both take one, the BF-2608A and B both take two — while the BF-2601A takes one. But a buyer who orders one globe and needs two is stuck, so we will open a fitting and confirm rather than have you guess.

Does the lamp count change the wiring or the load?

No. It is a hard-wired 240V fitting either way, and with LED G9s at about 4W each the difference between one lamp and two is 4W — nothing your circuit will notice. The only thing the question affects is how many globes to have on hand at installation.

Is 60 watts per lamp or for the fitting?

Per lamp. We settled it across all 30 BF listings: the sheets say 60W whether a fitting takes one lamp or two, so it cannot be a fitting total; the one-lamp BF-2185 says 40W, which shows it tracks the lamp; and the BF-2020 states "2x60W" in its own title. We would still not put 60W halogens in a closed ceramic body — 4W LED G9s do the job cool.

How does it compare with the BF-2601A?

Different size and different shape of light. The A is 150mm wide with a 125mm projection and takes one G9; this one is 120mm square, 150mm tall, with a 120mm projection. The A reads as a wider, shallower block on the wall; this reads as a taller, more compact one. The lamp count is where the two listings disagree, which is what the note above is about.

Do I have to paint it?

No — the raw ceramic is a deliberate look and many are left as they arrive. It is porous until painted or sealed, so it marks more easily. If it sits where hands reach, finish it.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. Raw ceramic is porous until painted and the fitting is rated for indoor dry use only. For a bathroom, ask us for something with an IP rating suited to the zone.

Why is the warranty only one year?

That is the term Domus gives its imported ceramic range, not an error on this listing — most of this catalogue is three years. A ceramic shell with replaceable lamps has little in it to fail; chipping is the real risk.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
