Barline 600mm surface mounted wall light

This is the longer Barline, at 600mm and 12W. It is a linear surface-mounted fitting in black, white or brass, made to lay a band of light along a wall rather than to illuminate a room from it. The 180° beam is the reason: light leaves the fitting sideways across the surface it is fixed to, so what you see is the wall lit, with the fitting itself reading as a line drawn on it.

At 600mm the proportions change what it suits. Along a hallway, above a run of joinery, or flanking a wide entry, the longer body holds its own against the surface instead of reading as a mark on it. The shorter Barline in the same range is the one to look at for a single doorway.

Light output and colour temperature

The fitting draws 12W and is tri-colour, so the colour temperature is chosen on the fitting at installation rather than being fixed when it is built. Each setting has its own rated output: 450lm at 3000K, 460lm at 4000K and 455lm at 5500K. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI. The Barline is not dimmable, so it is designed to run at full output on a switch, sensor or timer.

The LED is integral. There is no lamp base, no globe to buy with the fitting, and nothing to replace later. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs.

Power and installation

The Barline runs directly from 240V AC mains with no driver required. It is a Class 1 fitting, so an earth connection is required and the work belongs to a licensed electrician.

Being surface mounted, the fitting has to cover its own cable outlet. Set out the full 600mm on the wall before the cable position is fixed — a linear fitting is unforgiving about this in a way a round one is not, because a body that stops short of where the outlet sits cannot be rotated to hide it.

Choosing the finish

The same fitting is sold in three finishes: HV3562T-BLK in black, HV3562T-WHT in white and HV3562T-BR in brass, which carries a higher price than the other two. On a long fitting the finish decision matters more than it does on a short one, simply because there is more of it in view during the day. Black and white are the finishes that disappear against a matching wall; brass is the one that stays visible whether or not the light is on. Frequently asked questions
How bright is it?

It is a 12W fitting rated at 450lm, 460lm and 455lm at 3000K, 4000K and 5500K respectively. The shorter Barline in the same range is rated lower — its own listing carries those figures.

Can it be used outside?

Yes. It is rated IP65 for dust and jetted water, and IK08 for impact.

Does it need a driver?

No. It runs on 240V AC mains directly. It is Class 1, so it does need an earth connection.

Is it dimmable?

No. The Barline runs at full output and is not a dimmable fitting.

Is there a globe to replace?

No. The 12W LED is built into the fitting.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
