A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
One metre of linear light at 15W on 24V, in black or white. The Barline's 180° distribution lays light along the wall it is mounted on, and at this length that becomes a genuine wall-washing effect rather than a highlight.
What the fitting does depends almost entirely on the surface behind it. Grazing light finds texture: on split-face stone, textured render, brick or vertical timber battens it produces relief and shadow, and the wall becomes the feature. On smooth painted plaster there is nothing for it to catch, and the same fitting produces a plain soft band. Neither is a fault — but if you are choosing this fitting for effect, choose the wall as carefully as the light.
Both part numbers run on 24V DC only. They cannot be connected to 240V mains and a 24V DC driver is required, not supplied. The fitting is Class 3, so no earth is required at the fitting.
At 15W each, driver capacity and cable runs deserve planning rather than improvisation. On a long low-voltage circuit, voltage drop shows itself as the far fittings running slightly dimmer than the near ones — a defect that is difficult to fix once walls are closed and much easier to design out.
Tri-colour, with 3000K, 4000K or 5500K selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI. The fitting is not dimmable, so it belongs on a switched, timed or sensor circuit.
On a textured wall the warmer settings usually do more, because warm light exaggerates the shadow contrast that makes texture read. Cooler settings suit concrete and pale stone.
Aluminium body with Perspex diffuser, rated IP65 for dust and jetted water and IK08 for impact. Indoors, in bathrooms, or outdoors, the rating is not the constraint.
Set out the full metre before the cable outlet is positioned — the body must cover it — and mount level, since at this length any tilt is measured by the eye against the ceiling and floor lines. Havit states that aluminium and 304 stainless fittings must not be installed within 5km of a salt water environment. The LED is integral, with rated lamp expectancy of >30,000 hrs. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
A textured one. Grazing light on brick, stone, render or battens produces relief; on smooth plaster it gives a plain band.
No. It is 24V DC and requires a 24V driver, which is not supplied.
15W per fitting.
No. It is Class 3 low voltage.
