A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
A metre of continuous light at 15W, in black or white, running on 24V. At this length the Barline stops being an accent and becomes an architectural element: it holds its own against a joinery run, a stair flight or a wide entry wall, and it is long enough that its line is read as deliberate rather than incidental.
The 180° beam washes the mounting surface from end to end. On textured brick, board-formed concrete or vertical cladding that grazing light picks up every joint and shadow, which is usually the reason a fitting this long is specified in the first place.
Both part numbers run on 24V DC and cannot connect to 240V mains. A 24V DC driver is required and is not supplied. At 15W per fitting the driver sizing needs real attention: a run of three of these is 45W before anything else is added, and an undersized driver on a long low-voltage run shows up as fittings dimming toward the far end rather than as an obvious failure.
The fitting is Class 3, so no earth is required at the fitting itself. Cable runs and voltage drop are worth discussing with the electrician at design stage rather than at installation.
The 1000mm Barline draws 15W. It is tri-colour, with the colour temperature selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture: 3000K, 4000K or 5500K. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI.
Choose the setting against the surface. Warm 3000K flatters brick, timber and textured render; 4000K is the neutral choice for painted plaster; 5500K suits concrete and pale stone where a cooler light reads as crisp rather than cold. The fitting is not dimmable.
Set out the full metre on the wall before the cable outlet is fixed — the body has to cover the outlet, and there is no rotating a linear fitting to hide a point that ends up beyond its end cap. Mounting it truly level matters more at this length too, because a metre-long line makes any deviation obvious in a way a 300mm fitting does not.
It is rated IP65 and IK08, so indoor and sheltered or exposed outdoor positions all work. Havit applies a siting condition: aluminium, 304 stainless and powder coated brass or 316 stainless fittings must not be installed within 5km of a salt water environment, including pools. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs and the LED is built in. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
No. It is 24V DC and requires a 24V driver, which is not supplied.
15W. Size the driver for the total of every fitting on the run.
At a metre long, any tilt is visible against the ceiling or floor line. Short fittings hide it; this one does not.
No. The Barline runs at full output.
No. Havit's condition names pools alongside salt water environments.
