This is a 9 W A60 LED globe with a B22 bayonet base and an opal diffuser — 850 lm, CRI above 80, 360° beam, in 3000 K warm white or 6000 K daylight.
Two corrections to what this page used to say.
3000 K warm white and 6000 K daylight — both stocked, and our record listed only 3000 K. They are not interchangeable and the difference is large:
Note there is no 4000 K middle option in this globe — it is warm or daylight, nothing between.
94 lumens per watt, which is good for a globe, and the practical figure is this: 850 lm is roughly what a 60-watt incandescent gave. So this is a direct swap for the old bayonet globes in a house, drawing 9 W instead of 60.
The opal diffuser matters: it makes the globe glow as a soft even surface rather than showing diodes, so it is fine in a fitting where the globe is visible — an open shade, a bare pendant, a table lamp. A clear filament globe would show its structure; this one does not.
⚠ It is NOT dimmable. On a dimmer circuit it will flicker, buzz or not work at all. Check what you are fitting it into first — and if the circuit is dimmed, ask us for the dimmable version instead.
Unlike a reflector globe, this throws light all the way around and behind itself. In a pendant, an oyster or a table lamp that is what you want: the shade does the shaping, and the globe just fills it evenly. In a fitting designed to aim light, a 360° globe wastes most of it out the back.
A60 is the classic pear shape, 60 mm across and 112 mm long — it fits where the old globes fitted. B22 is the bayonet base: two pins, push and twist, the common Australian fitting. If your lamp screws in rather than twisting, you need E27 instead — ask us.
A note on the output figure. The datasheet gives it as a ladder — 850, 875, 900 lm — where every other source says 850. We have published the lowest and most conservative of the three, so the globe will not under-deliver against what we have told you.
A60 shape, 60 mm across by 112 mm long, in polycarbonate with an opal diffuser. 9 W giving 850 lm, B22 bayonet base, CRI >80, 360° beam, NOT dimmable, in 3000 K or 6000 K. 240 V, IP20 — indoor use. No electrician required. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No — it is a bayonet globe. You push it in and twist. Our page said it must be installed by a licensed electrician, which was wrong.
Yes — three years, replacement. The page carried our standard “excluding the globes” line on a product that is a globe, which would have excluded it from its own warranty.
3000 K is the ordinary warm household colour for living rooms, bedrooms and table lamps. 6000 K is cool daylight, noticeably blue-white — for garages, laundries, workshops and sheds, where you want to see clearly rather than feel comfortable. There is no 4000 K middle option in this globe.
