The Domus AVIGNON wall bracket, up-facing on an S-arm, holds the lantern above the arm against a wall — die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking a B22 lamp, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white. 290 mm projection, 500 mm overall height.
Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.
✅ This is the traditional carriage-lamp arrangement — the lantern held up and clear on a curved arm, the way an exterior lantern has been mounted on a wall for two hundred years.
It throws light further out than the down-arm version, because the lantern sits higher and the light has further to fall before it reaches the ground. ✅ That suits a facade, an approach, or a wall seen from a distance, where the fitting reads as an object as much as a light.
⚠ The down-arm version is the better choice where people pass close to the wall — a doorway, a step, a narrow side path — because the lantern sits lower and puts light where they are walking. Both take the same lantern and the same five finishes, so a property can mix them.
| Configuration | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Wall bracket, up arm (this) | A facade or an approach — lantern held clear |
| Wall bracket, down arm | A doorway, step or path beside the wall |
| Pillar mount | Flat on a pier or wall cap |
| Post top | On an existing post — post not included |
| Chain pendant | Hung from a porch or portico ceiling |
| 1, 2 or 3 heads on a post | Six post heights, 1.25 m to 2.4 m |
✅ A wall bracket at the door, posts along the path, a pillar mount at the gate — one scheme in three mountings rather than three near-matches. ⚠ No page in the catalogue says the others exist. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set.
Its sheet reads "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket" — ⛔ on a listing that is a wall bracket. The line names another configuration in the family rather than a part. What this needs is a fixing into the wall and a B22 lamp.
AVIGNON traditional exterior wall bracket, up-facing on an S-arm. 290 mm projection, 500 mm overall height. Die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens; made in Italy, assembled and powder coated in Australia. B22 bayonet lamp holder — lamp not included. 220–240 V AC. IP43 — sheltered positions, not driven rain or hosing. Beige, black, burgundy, green or white. ⚠ Warranty 1 year.
⛔ Maximum lamp wattage is not recorded in any source — ask us. ✅ The same lantern is available in seven configurations, including a down-arm version of this bracket for positions where people pass close to the wall.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Where the light needs to land, and who sees the fitting. The up-arm holds the lantern above the S-arm — the traditional carriage-lamp arrangement — and throws light further out, which suits a facade, an approach or a wall seen from a distance where the fitting reads as an object. The down-arm hangs it below, putting light lower and closer to the wall, which is better where people pass close by: a doorway, a step, a narrow side path.
Set the fixing so the lantern is where you want it, not the bracket — on an up-arm the lantern sits at the top of the 500 mm, so the fixing point is well below the light. Beside a door the lantern typically wants to be at 2.1 to 2.4 m: above the head of anyone standing there and below the eave. Check the eave clearance, because an up-arm needs room above it.
290 mm from the wall. That is the same as the down-arm version, so the two are interchangeable in plan — the difference is vertical. On a narrow path or beside a door swing, check it before fixing.
Not recorded in any source, and every AVIGNON configuration shares that gap. Neither the datasheet nor our record states a maximum for the B22 holder. An LED B22 at 9–11 W sidesteps it — roughly what a 60 W incandescent gave, running cool inside a sealed acrylic lens. Ask us before fitting anything else.
On this up-arm version, more defensibly than on the down-arm — the lantern is held higher and further from the eyeline, and a visible filament suits the traditional carriage-lamp form. Keep it warm, 2700 to 3000 K. On the down-arm, where the lantern sits closer to eye level for anyone approaching, opal is the better choice.
Under an eave, comfortably. On an exposed elevation with no overhang it is marginal — and an up-arm sits higher and further from the wall's shelter than a down-arm, so it catches more. IP43 covers spray falling at up to 60° from vertical, not driven rain and not hosing. Tell us the position and we will say.
Yes — the same lantern head is made in seven configurations: this up-arm bracket, a down-arm bracket, a pillar mount, a post top, a chain pendant, and single, twin or triple head on posts of six heights. A wall bracket at the door, posts along the path and a pillar mount at the gate is one scheme in three mountings. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set.
