The Domus AVIGNON chain pendant is the lantern hung on a chain from a porch or portico ceiling — die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking a B22 lamp, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

Hanging it — the two figures that matter

• Clearance below. ⚠ Under a porch or portico, the bottom of the lantern should sit above head height for the tallest person who walks under it — and remember an entry step raises them. Typically 2.1 m minimum to the underside.
• Ceiling height above. ✅ At roughly 670 mm overall, a standard 2.4 m porch ceiling leaves the lantern at about 1.7 m — too low. This pendant wants a higher porch or portico ceiling, or a shortened chain.
• ⚠ Whether the chain can be shortened is not recorded. Most chain pendants can, and this one probably can. Ask us before assuming, because on a standard porch it is the difference between usable and not.
• ⚠ A pendant under an open-sided porch will swing in wind. A position sheltered on three sides is better than a corner that catches the prevailing weather.

⛔ The maximum lamp wattage is not recorded anywhere

• B22 bayonet, and no source states a maximum. ⚠ Every AVIGNON configuration shares this gap — and this is now the eighth Domus lamp-holder fitting we have found in that position.
• ✅ An LED B22 at 9–11 W gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did and runs cool inside a sealed acrylic lens.
• ⚠ Opal, not clear filament. A pendant hangs at eye level for someone standing, and in a traditional lantern with clear panes a filament globe is directly in view from the path.
• 2700–3000 K at an entrance — warm light reads as welcome.

⚠ IP43 — and a porch is the right place for it

• Spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — not driven rain, not hosing.
• ✅ Of all seven AVIGNON configurations, the chain pendant is the best suited to IP43, because it hangs under a roof by definition. A porch or portico ceiling shelters it from above, which is exactly what the rating assumes.
• ⚠ An open-sided porch on an exposed elevation is the exception. Driven rain reaches sideways. Tell us how enclosed the porch is.

⭐ Seven configurations of one lantern

✅ Chain pendant, wall bracket up or down, pillar mount, post top, and single, twin or triple head on posts of six heights.

A pendant under the portico, wall brackets either side of the door, and posts down the drive is one scheme in three mountings. ⚠ No page in the catalogue says the others exist. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set.

⚠ About the "Requires: Wall Bracket" line on its datasheet

Its sheet reads "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket". ⛔ A hanging pendant does not need a wall bracket — the line names another configuration in the family. What this needs is a ceiling fixing point and a B22 lamp.

⚠ This listing records no height. The 670 mm "length" is most likely the overall drop including the lantern, but that is a reading rather than a recorded figure. Ask us and we will measure one before you set the ceiling point. ⚠ Whether the chain can be shortened is not recorded either — on a standard porch ceiling that is the difference between usable and not. ⛔ Maximum lamp wattage is not recorded in any source.
